Or that it was a damn rehearsal and there was no reason to be shooting.

Can you post said protocols? Honest request and I apologize if I missed them in earlier pages/threads.

Roger can't, he just knows them flawlessly. And you're a proggy filth idiot who doesn't know anything about gun safety if don't adhere to his truth.

This is a dumb take. Alec is responsible for her death not from pulling the trigger but from being the guy in charge that’s supposed to ensure that the protocols are followed so this doesn’t happen. He just happens to be the same guy

The company that is running the movie shoot is responsible. This is OSHA level stuff, or whatever oversight organization regulates safety on movie sets. Sure, from a workplace standpoint this is an inexcusable accident. It should never happen. The killed and injured employees will be compensated.

But all this pretend outrage from right wingers comes from somewhere else. It likely comes from the fact that Baldwin made fun of Trump. But that doesn’t change this from a terrible workplace accident to a murder. The same would be said for a crane operator that didn’t ensure that the load was stable.

1) Never ever point a gun directly at someone.

2) Live ammo on set.

3) Live ammo in gun on set.

4) Previous incidents of live ammo fired from guns that were not supposed to have live fire.

All of those are protocols that were broken.

You just don't like it because you have some hardon for this pretender.

There are those here that have never been on movie set and have. There are those that have been fun owners since children and those that never have. There are those that are gun owners that have been on a movie and those that aren't gun owners that have never set foot on a set

It is glaringly obvious where each and everyone of you fall within these categories

Hell no. Actors dont get a pass with inherently dangerous items just bc they are actors. What kind of arse backwards logic is that? Oh he's an actor so he doesn't have to use common sense. Gtfo.

A actor that has never owned, touched, or fired a firearm gets hired to play a part in a movie where they use a gun, and you expect them to show up knowing firearm safety, and have the knowledge to determine whatever weapon, revolver, semiautomatic, shotgun, rifle they are given is safe to handle? It would be reckless for the producer of the movie to assume that, and is why there are normally trained people on set to assure firearm safety. Likewise why would a actor with zero knowledge of firearm safety think a crew member on a movie set would give them a firearm that was not safe to handle?

You actually need a link for these protocols, which have been linked like a dozen times since yesterday?

LINK

quote:

the entertainment industry has a long-established and extensive set of protocols regarding the use of firearms on set.

If properly followed by a production’s cast and crew, they make a tragedy like this one impossible.

quote:

Course S clarifies that even when blank ammunition is used, the prop master “should announce in a loud voice to the cast and crew that the firearm is ‘hot’” and notify everyone present — including the sound mixer, first AD, and stage manager — “prior to any firing of blank ammunition. Unless it is authorized by the property master, a firearm should never be aimed directly at another individual. If it is necessary to do so in a sequence, the shot can be “cheated” by aiming the weapon slightly to the side of the other person.”

This was not just an accident. Its virtually impossible for it to occur with even the most basic of protocols.

Sounds like bad casting, unless they are given some semblance of a firearms class, or experienced with firearms..

Did the prop master give Baldwin permission to point the gun at someone?

Just because something is normal on a movie set doesn’t mean that it’s safe or makes any sense. At the end of the day, Alec Baldwin created a situation where he was playing with guns and killed someone.

According to experienced Hollywood armorers, you never point a gun towards a person on a set. That is definitely aligned with every other instance of gun safety,.

Was it one shot that hit 2 people?

Still pondering this bizarre situation. I don't think Baldwin messed up by not checking the gun unless there is a specific protocol requiring the actor to check it. It's possible they actually have a protocol prohibiting that. These sets are heavily regulated, so they could see risk in someone other than the firearms expert messing with it other than what is needed for the scene.

But I am still curious on how the decision to aim the gun at the camera and by default the people behind the camera was made. That just doesn't seem like something they would allow.
