This has already been audited and an entire report released in 2023
OIG Audit Report
They determined it would be more expensive to fix it and would provide no benefit

quote:
The Agency Decided Not to Address These Discrepancies
In response to our 2015 report, SSA considered multiple options, including adding presumed
death information to these Numident records. SSA ultimately decided not to proceed because
the “. . . options would be costly to implement, would be of little benefit to the agency, would
largely duplicate information already available to data exchange consumers and would create
cost for the states and other data exchange partners.”16 SSA also believed a regulation would
be required to allow it to add death information to these records, and adding presumed death
information to the Numident would increase the risk of inadvertent release of living individuals’
personal information in the DMF.
We note that, as of January 2023, the full DMF included death information on approximately
137 million deceased numberholders. Over 18 million missing death records represents more
than 10 percent of the records in the full DMF. Therefore, the death information SSA currently
provides Federal benefit-paying agencies--and will begin providing to the Department of the
Treasury’s Do Not Pay initiative in December 2023--to help prevent improper payments to
deceased individuals, omit information for more than 1 of every 10 deceased numberholders

COBOL, RPG, C+, Visual Basic
Learned all 4 in a 2 year tech school program in 1995/1996.
Never used any of it but got a job as a network tech right after school.

Yes, I'm sure there's really no substantial SS fraud to be found....
Oh wait... this just happened yesterday
Acting Head of SS resigns
I even found a CNN link for the resident democrats
So DOGE is given access to a database of recipients and she immediately sprints out of the building

This is why these groomers are starting these threads. Distraction from what is really happening, which is covering up for their political heroes on the left that have been robbing us blind. Every republican voter I know wants every republican that is guilty arrested. Lefties? Nah. They only want one side audited and jailed.

What sort of proof would settle you down? Purchase order and invoice reports from the affected systems?
Those are shown on many of the X posts or on the doge.gov site.

Zero will satisfy him even when all the data is eventually shown. JR doesn’t dive into politics much but when he does he goes off the deep end

Bullshite. Both sides play the system and the side NOT in power is held accountable. It’s the Dems turn to receive their comeuppance. That’s just how things go

DOGE is auditing social security and found out there was an alarming amount of people over the age of 120 years old still receiving SS.
No there isn’t. Musk has no clue what he’s talking about.

We’re dealing with individuals with no background in SS data interpreting a sheet with no additional information beyond those numbers and people on this board expects us to trust what they say. Nevermind the fact that funeral directors contact the SS office all the time to let people know who died so payments can end for them.

How do you go about rationalizing this lady's resignation?
Just a happy coincidence since you think everything is on the up and up?

Oh jeezus. When I entered the 'real world' in 1999 I had a coworker who was retiring after 40 years in the industry. He would tell stories of working for some contractor at Stennis in the 1960s and how 'coding' was done back then on forms and punch cards. and how they'd have allocated time slots to go run their cards and if they didn't work they'd try again the next day.
i worked as a network admin for a school for a while. Got hired in 2008. A few months later, i was at a church event and we were talking about what we did in a group of people. i mentioned my job and this 50 YO dude goes off on how he didn't get hired for that position with that despite his 30 year experience in COBOL and programming.
i looked at him and said, "Sir, the job required a CCNA, MCSE, knowledge of Cisco Wireless, SQL, etc."
"well i've forgotten more about programing COBOL than you'll ever learn"

COBOL isn't hard to figure out. Its very similar to pascal.
All object-oriented languages aren't hard to learn.
AI should be able to easily convert the code for them.
