People are speculating that is what happened but even if that is the case what idiots are missing is the fact that there are people in the system without a DOB entered. Do you not see how that is also bad and pure incompetence and open to fraud?
Claiming this is a Cobol default issue is not the gotcha many think it is if you consider the above

Yea it’s one of two things -
1) incomplete files getting paid - not great
2) SS started in the 1930s meaning someone never deleted and carried forward through a few iterations could be showing as 150 I guess

they haven’t taught Cobalt at most of the respected MIS/CIS/CS programs since the mid-2000’s. Congrats on being old. This is a dumb thread.
eta: also, if you at one point knew the basics of Cobalt. These kids could probably learn it overnight if they haven’t already.

This not rare… or at least I’ve heard of it( two aunts retired from social security office)… if a 80 year old marries a 30 year old they could possibly receive that person SS check a 150 years after they were born if they live to be a 100

Short answer, sure, there's fraud somewhere but it's likely nowhere near the level he would have you believe in that post.

It came out today that there are 334 million citizens vs 394 million active SS numbers. Some of that is fraud from illegals but it's also possible that some of it is the 150 year olds still in the system and marked as alive.
