The fact that if you lose these cases you aren’t responsible for the court and defense costs is insane. There is literally nothing to lose for the “victim”.

Texas sucks dick for plaintiffs. Your grandma will prolly be getting paid before it's all settled and done. Prayers sent to gma and the honorable plaintiffs

This will take well over a year. More than likely your Mom will come out of it clean, but money will be wasted on lawyers.

I would counter-sue for pain and suffering.

When you get them, post the redacted medical notes and bills so all the insurance company doctors that post here can analyze the plaintiff’s fake phony injuries.

They could have fixed it this legislative session but you know, this state is run by a trial lawyer so.

How could they have "fixed it"?

Yesterday my 76 year old mother was served with papers from a fender bender dating back to January 2018. Ol bird was turning left on a green and a small Kia darted out from a parking lot and hit her broadside in the intersection. Mom got the ticket even after arguing the highway traffic lane was clear before the girl floored it out the the driveway.

Something doesnt add up. Is that how the cop wrote it up?

Yeah, the request for itemization has been submitted with the quickness. Same for all social media from accident date to present (I guess that can be done).

My wife hit the trailer hitch of a F250 in a Honda Accord at about 3 mph a year ago. It didn't even do enough damage to the car to consider getting it fixed, just a scratch on the bumper. Zero damage to the truck.

The guy got out claiming back problems and went to the hospital and sued our insurance. I think they settled with him too. That's Louisiana for you.

I saw a woman with 5 chillen's in the car stopped at a red light. The woman in the car behind her was at a dead stop when her foot came off the break and she touched the car with the chillen's in it at maybe 2 mph or less. Within 20 minutes, the woman and the 5 chillen's were all laying on the ground with various injuries and 4 amberlampses were there to transport.

I've never seen such good coaching or parenting,

You aren't helping your case that there were no injuries when a car going 55mph rear ends another vehicle unexpectedly.

I know it sucks. But you aren't making a very good argument

I think you missed where the only damage was 1.5" scratch to a plastic bumper from a trailer hitch. if there was any actual destructive collision that hitch would have put a hole through the bumper

Always wondered this. If a persons Facebook is private can the lawyers still get their hands on the posts?

For the price it would cost to fight this in court you could easily hire a hit man.

What the frick did you think we were talking about when we said that you'd better have some killer insurance if you want to drive around in this state?!

In Florida, generally they can.

I assume a search warrant would need to be obtained?

FWIW all those suits have a lot of similar language for all the “losses” suffered by their clients.

Prank: Many years ago, a lawyer I knew hated this p.i. attorney in Texas. So, he gets a woman to call the office and say she wants to come in because "her son, who was in dental school, was killed by a Southland truck that was driven by a drunk trucker and she wants to sue them ..." Then, my friend made static and bad connection noises and terminates the call.

You know the p.i. lawyer spent time trying to figure how to reconnect with that woman.

A friend of mine clipped the bumper of a car doing about 20 on hwy 190 just outside of Covington when he switched lanes in heavy traffic. Minimum damage was done. No one needed medical attention and my friend thought everything was ok till he got a call from his insurance several months later stating that he was being sued. The passenger of the car claimed he fricked up his shoulder, underwent surgery and submitted all his medical bills to his insurance. My friends insurance settled up with the guy for 100k.

Every lawsuit is frivolous until you or your loved one gets hurt. Then you have the only meritorious suit in the whole system. It’s amazing how that works time and time again.
