Not every part of California is the Bay Area or LA county, you could live large on a 140k in many places here.
Yeah, a lot of places in California are very affordable to live in. They aren’t very nice, though

A) frick you, I can complain about anything I want.
2) I like an onion on my burger, but every time I've gone I have gotten an entire slice of onion. Like 15 layers of 1/4" thick onion.....

The smart ones in the industry understand quality of life.
smart ones also "work smarter and not harder"
if these people are high earning GMs, chances are they are smart, and chances are they got them places running like a well oiled machine. They probably arent working the 80 hours people are saying
you see it all the time - shitty GMs work longer hours, are more stressed, and have worse numbers. The good ones are the opposite

It isn't a bad jump to make. My friend tried the same but I have room to grow where I am at

I don't disagree with this at all as this is how I operate. There are more than a few companies that require long hours. Knew one guy that worked at a place that required 12 hour shifts 5-6 days a week. Told him he should've walked a long time ago.

I could have stayed at McD's locally after college and did quite well in fast food. However, it is not the life style I wanted.

In that industry, with those customers, and with that employee pool?
Good for them. They sure as hell work for it.
I'm sure they work hard, but not for he reasons this poster thinks.
Their employees are all young, clean cut, and eager to please. The restaurants are clean and well laid out, and the customers are well behaved.

Most overrated food ever.
Burger is good. Fries suck. I do not want an entire damn onion slice on my burger.
So order it without the onion. Or better yet, order it with grilled onions and they dice up the onions grill them and mix them with the cheese. shite's awesome.
Best fast food burgers I've ever had. Better than 5 Guys and other much more expensive places.

I ate at In-N-Out Burger in Tuscon, so I bet they are in Phoenix.
There’s one right near ASU’s campus. The eye candy was more than enough for dessert.

But then you get to live in SD. So the premium may actually be worth it.
Exactly
San Diego over some podunk town in LA is a no brainer.

Perfect chance for BLM and antifa to riot and ruin some economy.

bout the same for Chick-fil-a operators. i think i read that there are about 20 thousand applications for Chick-fil-a franchises a year. only about 150 new stores a year. they build the restaurant for you and take a cut off the bottom line. I also believe that all operators have to work a full time shift in the restaurant weekly
