Yup, I had been interested until I realized the fees were 160 per month at our nearest. That's damn retarded.

The one by me is around $150/month. That's not happening.

Brah there's always a few fatties who come into gym for two days then give up. There are fat chick who "do" crossfit.

Do moves that emphasize range of motion and stability, tho. You want your hips strong and you want flexibility. Also, using unstable surfaces makes you work muscles you never knew existed.
Try holding yourself up on rings for about 10 seconds and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I've been trying to get my core stronger over the past 5 years or so. It's definitely much better although there are times when I get a sore lower back for a few days from either overdoing it or possibly bad form. I think that it's usually when I go to a group class and the last 10 minutes are a combination of core exercises so I'm not exactly sure which of them is causing the soreness.

How often was that a week? Usually the prices vary depending on how many classes you attend.

Most people do the moves incorrectly. Of all the moves I see done incorrectly, the ones that are the worst are the planks, side planks, and ESPECIALLY sphinx planks.
If you have a sore lower back, you either are doing the move completely wrong or you need to see a physician.

Eh... maybe, I am just saying I've never seen one. Then again I have only been around crossfitters while deployed, and the girls... oh the girls...

reasons i like CF:
- I dont have to program anything. I show up, and do the work, then leave.
- class atmosphere. I have friends that keep me accountable & keep my showing up
- met a lot of cool & different people
- variation. No day is the same.
- i have gotten stronger. Been going for about 3 years, and its rare that i dont set a PR whenever we do testing.
- my flexibility, functional strength and overall quality of life is at its highest
When you start threads like this, you have to realize that anyone that doesn't do crossfit, will hate on it. So take those with a grain of salt. Injuries aren't common, but they do happen, just as they would if you do anything physically intensive.
Doing high reps of light weight olympic lifts are not harmful
Yea the pullups look stupid, i don't disagree with that.
Good coaching does go a long way. With that said, the 3 best gyms in Metairie are CF Roux, Crescent City CF Elmwood and CF Full Bore.

Not sure, think that was just the flat monthly rate, don't know if it limited the amount of classes or not.

I did it for about a year. As others have said a lot of douchebags like white sunglasses type. The reason I did it is I could not get myself to just go to the gym. You can definitely get injured but I found a place that wasn't super serious about all the extreme stuff. If there was something I didn't want to do I just didn't do it and nobody really said anything. The only reason I would do it is if you know you need a reason to make yourself go if not just join a regular gym.

So if I go 4 days a week it cost me $6.25 each workout...and that with a small group setting and 2 coaches helping you that is almost as good as having a personal trainer....I'd say thats a damn good deal

I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the tip.

What is Crossfit?
This is a very good 5-minute video on the science of crossfit and what it really is. You are welcome.
"Crossfit is ideal for building cardiovascular endurance or as I like to call it, the ability to lose gains. "

Correct....and this is largely the segment of women who have adopted the "lift big, eat big" mantra to justify their robust figure. Sorry, but starting out fat and then being able to lift heavy weight because of it does not justify eating like a male power lifter.

I've seen some smoking hot crossfit girls, but for every one there's 15 that fit your above description.
