In CA you either want to be within 25 miles of the coast or in the Sierras

Imagine winning $5 million, then doing something so dumb you get sent to prison and not being able to enjoy it.

I live in Fresno (a good part) but grew up in a bad part of the city. Trust me, it’s believable. Lol. This place sucks balls.

Nice! North Fresno on the edge of Clovis is where I call home. It’s a helluva lot better than down by Roeding Park where I grew up. That’s a shite hole. Lol. My wife and I got married at Bass Lake. It’s beautiful up there.

having a son being good at basketball or football has been replaced with "shot by police" as a single mom's quickest path to a payday

Why get in the way of natural selection? Confine them to their habitats and let them thin their own herd.

They should have made her reimburse the taxpayers for all the welfare she received, could have broken even.

California is awesome.

This past weekend their governor signed into action a bill which prohibits gas-powered lawn mowers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and edge trimmers.

Smittcamp, the district attorney, said Lopez used her settlement money from the city of Fresno to buy the guns that her son then sold to other gang members — actions that should make people “sick to their stomach.”

Lol, or we just know that criminals breed criminals so it’s not shocking that a piece of shite parent does piece of shite things.

“As a mother and a prosecutor and a citizen of this county for my entire life, this is some of the most despicable behavior I’ve ever seen from a human being,” Smittcamp said at a Friday news conference announcing the arrests.

I agree. Entering into settlements for things like this is truly despicable.

quote:

The settlement money came from the April 2017 death of Lopez’s son Isiah Murrietta-Golding. Fresno police said he was a murder suspect and pulled over the teen at a shopping center, according to the Fresno Bee. Soon after Murrietta-Golding got out of the car, he bolted away from the officers.

As he was fleeing, Sgt. Ray Villalvazo shot the teen in the back of the head. Body-camera footage released by Lopez’s lawyers recorded a fellow officer saying “good shot,” according to the Bee.

The police department said that it looked like Murrietta-Golding was reaching for a gun and that the officer feared for his life. But security footage and the body-cam video showed Murrietta-Golding pulling up his baggy pants after he jumped a fence.

Investigations by the Fresno Police Internal Affairs Bureau, district attorney’s office and Fresno Office of Independent Review all found the shooting was justified.

Murrietta-Golding’s family filed a civil rights lawsuit soon after. The city settled in April of this year.

How do these morons not realize that reaching for your pants while running from the police could be interpreted as going for a gun? Police officers should not be required to roll the dice on guessing what a fleeing murder suspect is doing when he reaches for his pants.
