In the legal world: Are they shutting down because of the Covid-19 virus, or are they shutting down because of the government mandate?

Oceana Grill was on Kitchen Nightmares years ago. Seems like they enjoy the spotlight, even if it’s negative.

They’ll get as much by suing Werewolves of London.

Chinese human folks did this, not Mother Nature.

Oceana Grill

Isn't that the place that's owned by those 2 foreign goons that was on Gordon Ramsey's show with the cooler full of rotten seafood?

Nothing will be decided in CDC. Llyod's policies have arbitration clauses. Lloyd's will remove to federal court, then stay the case pending arbitration in London.

If you're going try waxing eloquent, at least finish it off with "nor" instead of "or".

Insurance companies for the most part are money hungry and will frick you every chance they get.

Wrong! Insurance companies are like any other company, they desire a profit. That profit hires a shite-ton of people to provide for their families and make a decent living.

As an agent, I can assure you that these companies often do not clear as much as you'd think with expenses, claims pay outs, etc...and the LAST thing you want are insurance companies struggling financially to stunt paying claims.

The problem often lies with ignorance of the consumer and folks trying to gouge or get something for nothing. I have seen so much trifling BS over the last 7 years on the consumer side. Insurance is like the police in ways...lots of folks want to bitch about them but when they are there to save your arse in a time if crisis, things take a different twist.

Yep. Lot of people hate us because we are "price gouging, money hungry assholes", but as soon as they have a loss we are the first ones to find out and help out.

They don't use London lawyers typically.

NEW ORLEANS — In what’s believed to be a first in the U.S., a French Quarter restaurant is suing Lloyd’s of London, hoping a judge will order the U.K. based insurance market to cover losses caused by government-ordered closures due to the coronavirus.

Good luck with that..

That's exactly why you read the fine print..

Will be an interesting case, uncharted waters as this isn’t specifically included or excluded.

No it isn't. Business interruption coverage in the ISO form specifically excludes closures due to viruses. So no, while it sucks this isn't covered. Gotta read you policy

Infectious disease business interruption claims are most definitely uncharted waters. Name the last infectious disease business interruption lawsuit smartie pants. I’ll hang up and listen.

Neither insurance nor infectious diseases are unique to the United States. Just because it hasn’t happened here, doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened elsewhere. Bet your arse London is aware of any bad faith litigation worldwide and the syndicates have amended or endorsed their forms to ensure they don’t get hit for something they specifically do not want to cover.
