I'm curious if the weather maps for these below average temperatures show the darkest blues (and blacks?!) for slight deviations from average to imply that this is incredibly widespread and bad.

going home right after work bring in all my plants and light and stable all my cattle. they probably wont see the sun again until the freeze warning goes away. I am so thankful that our weather services look out for its citizens. I'm so nervous about it getting to 36 degrees. it must be a very cold 36 for there to be a freeze warning. first ever non-freezing temperature freeze warning ever? maybe....

Looks like it was sunny and in the 60’s during the day. Basically perfect. But the freeze warning was until 7am tomorrow when temps are expected to be 34°.
Probably a good heads up from the news to inform people that pets and plants may suffer.

Freeze warnings are mainly for agricultural interests. Marking an end to the growing season.

I understand Louisiana is fairly flat, but valley temperatures at night can be markedly lower than higher grounds.
Thus, it could be 34 in one location and a nearby low area would be below freezing

You can get a killing frost when temps are above freezing, hence the warning.
