Per Fox 8 their weather station in Houma never got a higher gust than 46mph. Berwick which got the NW part of that large eye got a gust of 61. Can that be accurate? Seems low.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this thing headed for the Lake Charles area initially?

yes, prior to it developing really, so it was a premature advisory but necessary to warn people in the potential path. since it developed a center, it has never been slated for lake charles

I think it’s true. You can get weather station info on the radar. Highest I’ve seen was 51 in Gibson.

Clearing up and blowing hard here in Bayou Blue.

If the NHC weren't a GOV oufit and had to compete on the private marketplace, they would be 3rd string. Maybe if they weren't obsessed with CLimATe caHnge!! they would be better at their actual jobs. Competition breeds excellence and they have none.

Some people can’t grasp how complicated this stuff is. There is no perfect forecast. Meteorology is an imperfect and inexact science.
