Hell Ida was over 1000 pages. How do people that have been around here believe that this Cat 1 would rank at the top.

1.21” of rain in Thibodaux so far. Winds just picked up for a few minutes. Max gust 14. Hummingbirds are still hitting the feeders.

In the Duplessis area between Prairieville and Gonzales, peak wind gusts are supposed to be 44 mph in the 10 p.m. hour., which is almost 25 mph lower than what they forecast yesterday. Any idea why that would be?

First time caller, long time listener. Is this the longest thread in TD history?
Thanks, I’ll hang up and listen.

I always thought it's when the center of the eye is over land, but I could be wrong.

In Da Parish, a steady rain but not too heavy. No winds yet.
Looks like a lot of red headed for us and according to the Fox 8 app future radar, what’s left of the eye should arrive around 830-900.

quote:Okay, so doing the math, although it was my understanding there would be no math in this thread, if the eye is 20 miles in diameter and the storm is moving 10 miles/hour the difference in timing of "landfall" between the front edge of the eye versus the center of the eye crossing onto land would be 1 hour. (Please don't ask me to show my work.)
