How anyone can count on any specific landfall location seems crazy at this point.
This isn't 1957 with Hurricane Audrey surprise approaching Cameron. Modern tracking and predictions are pretty damn good.

Isn’t modern tracking is still based off historical data some?
And with a TS forming this late in the game, it’s unpredictable as hell.
Still, it’s incredible that we can nail down a cone of uncertainty like we can

It’s weird that that run basically goes east instead of north east
Posted on 9/9/24 at 6:16 pm to Mr Roboto
Thats a few model runs in this 18z slot with a 40-50 mile east shift
Posted on 9/9/24 at 6:16 pm to Mr Roboto
Yea don’t like that one. I’ve been reading the more it strengthens the greater tendency it has to shift east when accounting for the steering forces. Seeing these forecasts going to cat 2 and possibly 3 has me shocked that it’s not shifting straight through BR

Please delete. Don’t like it one bit

What's the reasoning

All models shift east. We will see if it sticks

just finished the most important part of hurricane prep...I got my grass cut.
I dunno if I’m even going to cut mine… rain totals aren’t that bad

Same here.
I’m expecting this to be a minor event, so I’ll probably lose my roof.

The latest GFS shows it as barely a 2 at landfall. Are we really thinking it will get to a cat 3?
Maybe before landfall. Not for long though

Got mine done yesterday and just got all my porch furniture brought in, hurricane shudders done and zip tied with 10 of the huge ones just to be safe and this mother fricker done shifted back away from LC.
