We've got 25k troops in SK. They're not there to keep the NKs from crossing the DMZ. They're there to keep the SKs from rolling north.

Probably a nothingburger BUT unless the little fricker has been confirmed alive, it could be a sign of some instability. Maybe the DPRK guards saw some SoKo border guard wanker jerking off to a picture of Kim Yo-Jong and decided to spice things up.

Or it could be the exact opposite and rocket man is still alive and ordered a fence line shooting as a power move to let South Korea he is still in control.

Spent a significant amount of time in SK, very close to NK. The ROK Marines and NK troops both know that NK can’t really do shite. Both sides know that NK doesn’t have the military might they once did and the DMZ is a big circle jerk.

This is the main concern IF you think it may play out. My take, North Korea would be leveled if this occured. It is simply a deterrent to keep SK from invading. This current incident is simply for "news" dissemination.

That could start to be less of a deterrent than in the past. Anti-artillery systems have gotten pretty sophisticated and can destroy some shells before they reach their intended targets.
