I've never done it, but getting that gas smell on your hands when you're going somewhere is annoying.
I'm 43, been driving/pumping gas since I was 15. Never in my life have I left a gas station smelling like gas. What kind of janky stations do y'all visit?

Never heard of this or seen this.
My lawyer or doctor friends, even the female ones wouldn’t do that.

Those handles are just sooo gross!
this.
I don't do it to avoid getting gas on me or anything other than avoid touching the handle with my bare hands. I read a study a while ago that said pump handles were one of the nastiest surfaces in public.

Almost as brilliant as the Ice Cream Glove!

I'll do it occasionally. Feels like someone else is pumping.

I keep a pair behind the passenger seat of my red Miata next to a spare pair of high heels.

It's not a terrible idea.

No but I do wear driving gloves.

I wear gloves when I take a crap too, actually I keep a pair in my wallet for when I use a public toilet. I don't want to touch anything public I don't have to ya know?

if you’re pumping diesel.
Definitely. The diesel pump always leaks around the connections.

NO. The best thing to do to get the smell of gas off your hands is baby wipes.

Those gloves just absorb the fuel and don't stop the skin exposure.
In the UK they provide gloves at the pump but most people don't use them.

He just wanted his hands not to smell like gas even after continued washing.
Posted on 7/4/18 at 12:13 pm to Covingtontiger77
What’d the point of wearing the glove, what does it do?
Posted on 7/4/18 at 12:15 pm to DavidTheGnome
It’s to protect you from the HIV-infected needles baws have been hiding in the handles.

Anyone else do this at the pump? Actually think it’s a good idea.
