im from Louisiana and find NOLA near and dear to my heart, but its gotten very bad
its like the close family member who's gotten into drugs or become out of control, you still love them to death, but after a while if they dont change you have to separate yourself from them.
the culture, food, history- cant be matched in the US.
the rest is the reason i left and my two good friends are in the process of leaving. my good friend since i was 5 has been working off Iberville for 5 years and shes had enough. didnt renew her lease thats up in June and is getting the F out of the city and moving away.
its sad but i dont see how you fix it with all the poverty and gangs and drugs. its not a short term fix. it will take a massive overdue like we saw with NYC in the late 80s, early 90s.

I'll most likely be going to Texas by the end of summer
Was born and raised in Nola but it is becoming a zoo and I just don't see an end in sight

Were any of them riding a bike shirtless?

gotta love how they pan out to show the statue in the very first shot.

Now, you've taken it too far. The Zephyrs do not suck.

Probably gutterpunk on gutterpunk crime. I won't lose sleep over it.

I haven't been back down to New Orleans in about 5 years and probably won't again for another 5 years. It's sad to even read the news there. I doubt any significant changes ever happen, but I really hope they do somehow

French Quarter Fest bringing more crime than Essence and Bayou Classic put together.

They way she pronounces stabbings as stabbins has me like

The French Quarter is such a shithole. There are better areas in Nola: Uptown, Mid City, Bayou St. John, Fontainebleau, Lakeview, etc.

You are probably right I got stopped by a gutter punk girl asking me if I had seen her dragon. Apparently someone untied her dragon the night before and it was loose in the quarter. Drugs are a hell of a thing. A couple of days ago there were two of them fighting with concrete blocks on Esplande. They are nearly as out of control as all of the other violence.

When I saw that name, I knew who y'all were talking about. She was on a Shreveport station before coming down there.
Showstopper.

Absolutely. Gangsta af. I have no doubt she's witnessed a few "stabbins" in her time.

They should round them up and throw them out of the city

It does look like they are rebuilding tent city under the interstate. So that should make that area more secure.
