Jazz Fest is gonna be awesome.

We're all warmed up and ready for some major freakin crime over the next few weeks.
Should be a blast.

Charleston?
Boston?

I'm sure there are other places.

What makes NOLA food so great? It's like most cities where there are lots of tourists to me. Most of the food isn't that good because it doesn't have to be because most folks only visit once.

Sure, there are great restaurants in NOLA. But there are great restaurants in every similar sized MSA.

The NOLA apathy and Louisiana apathy in general has become more and more palpable with each passing year. 10 years ago people cared, now they're simply jaded, and rightly so.

Roadgator, please enlighten us with some wisdom. Have you ever been to a NOLA restaurant that wasn't located within two blocks of bourbon and didnt serve mainly serve fried seafood?

Yes. There are good restaurants in NOLA. I already enlightened you on that matter.

NOLA folks have an over inflated view of your city. It's natural to be protectionist. I get that.

NOLA is no different with regard to food than any other MSA of it's size.

You ignorant frick. NOLA is the 2nd or third best restaurant city in the country. For its size is light years ahead of the next closest.
Ever hear of the James Beard awards. Read up on it one day. Nola probably needs its own category with this program.

I already said your Protectionism is understandable.

Your opinion about NOLA food is over inflated and you must know that like most awards they are bought and paid for.

Besides, we need to watch the annual visitor tally going forward for NOLA. As your city continues to become more dangerous visitors may not decide to risk death for your greatest food on earth.

I pray that doesn't happen. I like NOLA but it's becoming scary.

It's more than great local restaurants, it is local cuisine that makes this a great food city. If you can't see that, you can't be helped.
