These shitbirds should be on record voting no.

Sounds like a smart move to get the decision to go a certain way or for your party.

Is Amoroso's district St. George? If so, the four councilpeople have just about sealed secession.

Yes, his district includes parts of St. George. This is a slap in the face of Amoroso and his family. Let's replace a Republican White Male with a "Progressive Democrat" per Chauna Banks tweet.

Choosing a progressive Democrat to fill the vacant District 8 council seat would be a tremendous blow to the St. George effort!

Holy shite! Do these idiots not know what shite like this did in the last presidential election? Talk about saying something to motivate the opposition.

Just came across this little nugget:

quote:

Gary Chambers, who publishes The Rouge Collection and is a frequent council attendee, posted on his website July 6 — the day of Amoroso’s funeral — that Amoroso’s open seat gave a “historic advantage” to black council members.

“The ball is in the court of the black democrats on the council to influence the make up of the metro council moving forward,” Chambers wrote. “If the democrats remain united, they can force a potential historic change for the city of Baton Rouge.”

Sounds like they just added another thousand signatures to the STG effort, this is going to go through in a landslide
