Disconnect the battery, take gps out and microwave for 15 seconds. Return to vehicle, and reconnect battery.

If someone asks just say yea the battery was dead the other day.

Ask me how I know

Probably not

I'd probably either think to myself... well, it IS their vehicle and think nothing else of it or I'd approach them about it like a reasonable adult.

Not exactly sure how you claim they were "dishonest about it and tried to slip it by you". I'll guarantee you that isn't the case.

Did they say they did not have one installed? How exactly were they dishonest?

At least not anymore. BTW, you said it was new.

I'd check the employee handbook because I'd bet they "slipped in" a clause about damaging or disabling company property. Plus, doing that is almost admitting you are hiding something. My wanna send out some resumes while you're planning that work.

on star is a tracking device as well as a microphone to listen in to your conversations remotely at any time as well as see and can allow them to record video of whats going on inside your car.

its amazing how many people are clueless about that as well as their siri or alexa devices they buy and place in their homes to allow others to hear everything they do and say

I would keep going to sketchy hoods and buying drugs and picking up hookers during work hours. What are they gonna do?

It's their property that they are allowing you to use. Get over yourself.

They track our phones. They tell us about once a month to allow for location services to be turned on for our work programs.

You think Enterprise is out here renting $40,000 vehicles without a mechanism for recovery?

Worked for Them 2013-2016. The only cars I am aware of that had tracking devices were from the “exotic” locations, the fancy rentals.

Would Enterprise prefer to receive an insurance payment for $40,000, or recover a vehicle that now has a branded title worth $10,000?

My company installed GPS in our 40+ trucks and on equipment more than five years ago. We brought everyone in and discussed it. Our goal was not micro-managing but trying to save time & fuel getting the right employee (based on their individual strengths) to the right customer. My Operations Manager or Service Manager can look to see who is the closest to a customer in cases of an emergency. Happens on a weekly basis. Those who were doing shite that they were not supposed to do stopped but based on changes in overall mileage, it was very few.

Our other biggest issue was personal safety and I don't mean speeding. Our system will send an alert if a truck idles for an extended period of time or doesn't start by 8am on a work day. This happened three years ago. Got the alert about a truck not starting up and we called to check on employee. No answer so called the spouse. The poor guy had a mild heart attack while getting ready for work and spouse had already left for work and had no idea.

The biggest benefit we didn't count on was the GPS providing the evidence we need when customers call to bitch about their bill. Most of the complaints are that my employee was not at X-place for X-hours. I politely inform them that I will print out the employees GPS for the day in question and will provide a copy. It solves 95% of the these problems. The one I hear the most is "I got your Invoice and my wife (or teenager) says your guys where not there more than X-hours."

I had several employees who where not happy when we started, but talked it out and they almost all see the benefit. With that said, I would have never installed the system without telling everyone in advance.
