Why didn't these "witnesses" say or do anything when this was all going on?

Believe me, the ratting has been going on for months. The deals have already been cut.

Former Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome said Wednesday she has not received a target letter from prosecutors who subpoenaed her to testify before a grand jury probing corruption during her administration. Though subpoenaed, the former mayor did not show up to testify before the grand jury, which met Wednesday.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Former Mayor Sharon Weston Broome has retained a high-profile Baton Rouge criminal defense lawyer as a corruption case widens into her administration.
James Boren told the WAFB I-TEAM that the former mayor recently hired him. She was subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury tomorrow, but the meeting was abruptly postponed today. No future date has been set.
“I am consulting with her about her options,” Boren said.
“She can answer questions or rely on her constitutional rights to not answer questions,” Boren said. “This is the same right that anyone has.”

Does that typically mean she found out an indictment is coming? FBI sent out target letters two years ago and she's just now hiring this guy? I wonder what changed. Maybe Courtney started talking after she was arrested.

It’s a stall tactic to avoid court appearances and subpoenas.
She waited to “officially” hire an attorney so she could dodge her grand jury subpoena this week. Her lawyer can now go to the judge and argue that this is a complicated case and he needs much longer than a couple of days to familiarize himself with it.

Like I say..you can’t trust them with power or money. They abuse the first, and steal the second.

I wish they indict her already. She may have a good lawyer lined up but drag her greedy lazy arse through the mud.

Doesn’t matter what city, these queens always find a way into a courtroom for stealing.

It’s so bad, they’ll suicide her if they even thinks about cutting a deal.

That was an amazing news cycle to see play out in real time. It just seemed it couldn't get any more bizarre and it would.
