Likely had sudden cardiac arrest in her sleep. This trend has been more common with high-endurance professional athletes whose endeavors put high strain on their cardiovascular system.

It’s usually caused by a congenital heart defect that went undiagnosed throughout childhood and was exacerbated by sports. It’s still very rare though.

I feel sorry for her husband and family. This kind of thing is everyone’s worst nightmare and no one should have to go through this.
