I got a beautiful little ribeye from fresh market tonight for around $16. It was much better looking than that.

It's been getting very bad the last few months. Can't go in HEB anymore and not drop $100 for a few things. Then they won't even staff the checkout so you're doing the manual labor yourself.

Because getting steaks from the dry aged cabinet comes at a premium. You know this.

So many people want the working wage to increase, but I wonder if these same people think the increase just comes out of thin air or from some magic box.

I’d say that a lot of people in their early 20’s have zero idea about basic economics and that’s particularly our fault as parents and the BS that’s feed to them in school from Pe-K through college.

On sale, Angus Ribeyes at a local market here in central Alabama is $9.99 and cut to 1.5 to 2” if you like. Just bought some last week.

Dry aged is way more expensive due to the loss of weight in the drying process. I bet it's 25% and the time is conciderably longer also. Wet is 21 days or so plus. Dry is twice that and up.

…..and it is a shitty cut. At some point you have to say it isn’t worth it. Either find a nice choice or get a thick pork chop.
