Thank God for them. I got quoted $600 to replace four tires from the dealership. Went to the 3rd-world looking shop and got them all replaced for $150.

There was a tire place near Sam's, on Airline, that some Mexicans owned. It looked like the home of a serial killer, but man those guys could repair a tire with the swiftness and cheap too..

They've since moved to Causeway and Jefferson Highway, place is a step up..

This is true. It’s the cement barriers and other cars that you slide into doing all the damage

That should be a public service announcement. It’s damn near impossible to get a tire plugged these days at the bigger retail tire shops.

Same brand and size? So, 4 tires for the price of one? Hell, even one tire installed and balanced for $150 is a damn good deal.

You might wanna check the inside of those tires for some "residue".

It's fricking insane that you can't get a patch unless it's in the dead center of the tread. fricking shitbag lawyers.

Those guys make bank. Whether off brand or recently used they do well and don't gouge on the markup. There's a place in NW Alabama that they go to that is the big supplier.

Was there actually some kind of liability involved in this? I thought it was just tire places trying to make a sale. I noticed things changed about 10(?) years ago. Those assholes always take the tire off and then tell you they won't patch it too. As if having removed it from the rim is supposed to be some kind of final act. I just tell them to put that shite back together and then I go to the llanteria down Hwy 59. Last couple of times I just skipped the Sam's Tire Shop "free repair" guarantee and went to see my amigos instead.

I paid a little over $600 for tires for my F-150, and I think $100 for mount/balance.

They've gone up a little since then- that was 2-3 years ago.
