Recently bought a 17' Yukon XL. We looked at the Expedition and just didn't think th ebuild quality was the same. I wondered the same since I am a Ford truck guy but the ride in the Yukon is far superior.

The most expensive Expedition Max you can build is $85k. Literally every option box checked, including the most expensive color.

That Expedition looks like a giant station wagon.

GM owns the market for a reason. They don't just nominally outsell the competition here.

$75K platinum

If you're paying sticker for that you might as well buy a new land cruiser for $84k

Land Cruiser >>>> Tahoe and Expedition

They own the market because they were the market for a long time before the Expedition existed. Couple that with the first two Expedition generations being super meh, while the 2000-2006 GM SUVs were some of the better looking ever made, and that's how you get an almost 10:1 sales advantage.

I don't think there's any way for Ford to catch up. Expeditions are well-built, frankly they are at least as good as their GM counterparts. But the market will always be run by GM.

General interior shittyness is why I couldn't make the leap from F150 to Tundra last time and one of many reasons I'll never even consider a GM product

I agree with this assessment 100%. GM products are made with the cheapest products known to man.

Amentities aside, the Toyota will be the most reliable and dependable out of all of them.

Remember this baw?

Every Ford I have had sucked. I definitely wouldn't trust them with something with that many parts to break.

Get the Yukon, Suburban, or Tahoe. They are extremely popular for a reason.

Ford trucks seem to be almost as popular as Chevy/gmc trucks.

“almost”?

Ford has outsold them for something like 40 straight years.

GM outsold them last year, and they sell more full sized SUVs than all of their competitors combined.

Cracked dashes, exterior trim falling off, buttons that paint falls off, leather that wears extremely quickly, door handles that crack. These are hallmarks of GM trucks and SUVs, and not just old ones. GM sells because they created the market. They aren't built any better than the Fords.

I agree BUT there are several reasons why you would choose Suburban/Tahoe/Expedition over the LandCruiser:

1/ They get much better gas mileage than the LandCruiser
2/ They are HUGE compared to a LandCruiser. If you need to move 6 people and a metric shitton of stuff it is no comparison.

Yup. Was a Chevy driver until we purchased our last vehicles. Our 2011 Tahoe pretty much had every issue above. When the dash cracked for the 3rd time, I was pissed and had enough. I know the new body style is supposed to be built better on the interior, but I'm not spending that kind of money. Wife wanted something a little smaller anyway and we could go with a "luxury" brand that had better warranties anyway.

I agree 100%. They invented the Land Yacht people-mover SUV but Ford has finally delivered something that is just as good, if not better. Build quality was excellent, interior was very well appointed, and the electronics / computer was pretty next-generation too.

Anyway– GM guys–, at least sit in one before you take a shite on it. I AM NOT a Ford guy at all but it was shockingly good.

Not the same size vehicle, not a true comparison.

ETA I like the Cruisers and the LXs a lot. But not as much space.

For owners rely on the stupidity of GM folks to think it's true so they can trick them into some butt sex

had all of that happen plus more (water filler tail lights, emissions problems, loss of oil pressure) in a 2010 sierra.

don't forget about the countless ac problems in the past few years plus the chevy shake transmission torque converter problem.
