We rented a 2018 Expedition Limited MAX for a 1500 miles emergency trip for a funeral. Thing was AWESOME. That 3.5 Ecoboost is the shite. Drove 80-90 the whole way and it was planted like a BMW. Sport mode really made it sporty to drive too. I was bummed to return it.

Whatever. Eco boost motors are literally ticking timb bombs and expeditions are inferior to lesser priced Tahoe’s/full sized Toyota’s and Lexus’s.

LX 570 is on a whole other stratosphere than the Fords and Chevys. No comparison.

GM has about 70% of the full sized SUV market.

Astounding really.

Slight difference in the steering that feels weird to me in an SUV.

Fact. I've had 3 f150s and one 1500. Lost the transmission in the 1500 at less than 75k miles. All 3 f150s over 200k miles. Some wear and tear but nothing major like that

Is there any reason hardly any one buys an expedition (when compared to a Yukon/Tahoe/suburban)? Bad marketing? Poor execution?
Will stick with my 2013 Land Cruiser - had 265,000 on my 2005 - with no problems except the love of gas - have 75,000 on my 2013 and it is just as thirsty as my 2005.

Well I hate to tell you, but I’ve had 2 Ford trucks that were complete shite compared to my 3 GM pickups. Same type problems you described only reversed.
I really do believe- after owning trucks for 25+ years- that it’s a matter of preference. Drive the one you like. Ford/Chevy is a toss up.

They are not that eye catching and all of them post 2014 come with ecoboost only.

Not sure about the redesigned version but from the outside it looks like a Tahoe and I’m sure the price is as high as a giraffes arse.

Literally?

Anyway, just reporting my experience. Thing was an awesome long-haul people mover that was fun to drive. I was as shocked as anyone... Ford has finally built something to effectively compete with Chevy/GMC. And it's really good.

Now I am stuck with a bad decision and under powered Taco. And the seats in the cabin feel like I am sitting on a concrete bench.

General interior shittyness is why I couldn't make the leap from F150 to Tundra last time and one of many reasons I'll never even consider a GM product

the pricing I've seen on all full size SUV's is absolutely absurd! No way they should cost that much.
