For those with kids, what do you expect from them after they turn 18?

Go to college, stay out of trouble, don’t get anyone pregnant. I’ll pay for everything until you’re finished with school.

College
Trade
Job
No kids before marriage
Drug free
No DWI
Be a responsible adult and contribute to society and not be a leech to the government

Or get pregnant. As a parent my goal is to get them a college education and continue to support them. That does not include an apartment or lavish lifestyle.

Go to college, do not major in anything that ends in "studies", make a minimum gpa of 3.5, no bastard kids, don't smoke or vape, be a decent human being.

Pretty much this

Teach them to be adults. There are far too many man-childs running around. Help them toward a career. All of these "They are 18 so they are on their own" parents typically produce unhappy and financially unsuccessful adults. I'd rather help a kid out for four more years so he can help himself better afterward.

Well my 6 year old has a girlfriend and says they are going to get married and have 5 kids...while living in his current bedroom at our house. So I got that going for me

I always "joke" with my kids that their graduation presents will be luggage sets and bus tickets

Go to college or learn a trade. Once on of those are finished, I would say he has a year or two to GTFO of my house.

Depends on the kid honestly. My oldest is great, and I sure wouldn't mind if she wanted to go to college in town and live with us, and continue to help out with her younger siblings. The middle one I'm not so sure about yet, but I can see him wanting to go off to school. The youngest, sometimes I wish I could send him on his way now, but you can't do that to a toddler.

The minute the clock hits 12:00 they're out the door, locks are getting changed and if on my property uninvited I'll shoot

Pretty much this plus keep your grades good enough to maintain your scholarships.
Oh, and make enough money that you have a guest house I can come live for when I'm old and broke.

Have 2 boys 20 and 17. The 20 year old went to college (a junior this year). He had a full ride so as long as he keeps that we pay his car insurance and phone bill. He got married last Summer and we keep the same set up since both in school and part time jobs.
The 17 year has similar grades and test scores so he should be ok for school so he gets the same set up. Car insurance and phone taken care of. Gas, extra $$ etc he has to have a job to take care of those expenses.
