Before you quit you need to come to terms with the fact that you won't look as cool. Just something to think about

You have no idea how bad you feel on a daily basis until you quit. I'd say it was a 10x improvement in my overall well being.

You have no idea what stuff tastes like. Food became so much better after quitting.

You have no idea how bad you smell or how good other things smell. I'm not sure how much my sense of smell improved, but it was dramatic.

My heart doc said that after 10 years of quitting smoking, it's like you've never smoked before. My only regret in quitting is that I didn't do it sooner.

Didn't smoke enough to really notice the money. Maybe a pack every few days.

Did not get sick as much with bullshite colds. I then ran a marathon. Well, "ran" is a kind term. More like ran 23 miles and then somehow stumbled the last 3.

I still get a cravings. Not gonna lie, I've cheated some when sitting around campfires with friends. Day to day I don't get cravings. Just certain situations.

Smoked for 30 years. Amazing what a heart attack will do for your motivation to quit. Still get the occasional craving, but my quality of life has definitely improved!

this is the stuff that is gonna make it hard to quit.

Like going to the beach and drinking, grilling outside, at an outside patio bar listening to music, little things like that that you associate with smoking.

I quit cold turkey for Lent in 2005 and never looked back. Life is exponentially better.

ETA: was a solid pack a day smoker.

5 packs a WEEK? fuggg baw. it's amazing what the human body can handle

amazing that you think that is a lot for a normal smoker?

I never got to a pack a day, but I know plenty of people that would get close to 2 packs a day. So lets say 14 packs a week.
14x52=728 packs in a year.

$4368 spent on cigs in one year.

Edit: $4,368x30 years of smoking = $131,040 in cigs over 30 years

I quit over a year ago after smoking for 5 years. I can breathe better and my allergies have improved.

Still have a bad nicotine craving when I drink. I don't think that'll ever go away.

More money? Meh, I found other things to spend it on.

Better Health? Yes, I can run without getting winded as fast. But I did gain weight, so I am trying lose that still.

What changed? I don't smell, I am not constantly chewing gum to get the smell off my breath.

Do you still get cravings at certain moments during the day? I used chantix, so I was able to smoke for a few weeks with it. But once my day came I was done. I would have a small craving every now and again, but it would pass in like a minute or two.

It was more of a mental rather than a physical addiction for me. Once I got over that, it was pretty easy.

Quit buying cigarettes a few months ago. I still bum one or two if I'm hammered.

Noticeable difference in how I feel.

What really helps is the nicorette lozenges when you are drinking. They taste like a mint and you just put one in your lip like a dip to curb those cravings while drinking.

what chantix does is make you hate smoke so it wasnt a problem.

My aunt smoked for over 20 years and quit using that stuff. She didn't report any of the side effects except for very realistic dreams. She said she broke down on day 5 and the cigarette tasted awful.

The only thing that creeps me out is how often the commercials mention suicidal thoughts.

FTW smoked a solid pack a day. Quit 10 years ago. Had to swear off drinking for about 2 weeks to get away from drunken relapses but after that, it was fairly smooth sailing...

Quit overnight using an expensive electronic cigarette, lowered my nicotine in that over the course of 3 months until I was at 0mg, and then I quit that

girlfriend is happier, I feel much better and have much better endurance in all areas of life whether it be working out or sexually, my clothes/hands/car no longer smell horrible, I no longer go outside no matter the temperature and freeze/sweat my arse off. I spend more time with friends when I'm with friends, rather than stepping out.

feel much better

best decision ever
