re: For those of you who work for a company that mandated the vaccine. What did you do?

I see it as a company has decided unvaccinated employees are more at risk to get COVID and that will result in decreased productivity from them being out sick. Which means costing the company more money in the long run. Not to mention others exposed having to possibly quarantine, etc.
Like it or not….vaccinated folks are at a less likely risk of getting COVID than unvaccinated. Sure they can still get it….but not as easily as someone unvaccinated.
Also, you can’t ignore that the vast majority of those with COVID that land in the hospital…are unvaccinated. Even if they don’t die….some may spend a good bit of time in the hospital before they recover.
It is in the company’s best interest financially to prevent COVID infections in their employees. The vaccine does do this to some extent.
That said….I don’t agree with a company being told they have to mandate vaccines. Let them make that decision on their own.

then i'm going to stop hiring women that could possibly get pregnant.

Being pregnant won’t result in others possibly also becoming pregnant by working close to the pregnant person thus meaning lots of people out at same time

Thanks for clearing that up. So the issue isn't really a "government overreach" or "government forcing you to take a vaccine". It's really more of the vaccine not having been tested long enough for long-term impact as opposed to the long term impacts of having caught and survived Covid-19.
So you are willing to play russian roulette with your child's life to scream government over reach when it isn't even about that since the government has forced people, including yourself, to get vaccinated in the past.

Kind of sounds like we should not hire women. They are more likely to get pregnant than men.
That will decrease productivity and also lead to wasted training dollars should they choose not to return. Birthing humans is also a large drain on insurance.
Like it or not….men are at a less likely risk of getting pregnant than women. Sure they can still get pregnant….but they are really just women with man pronouns.

but it's going to cost me money and productivity. that was your reasoning.

my boss had a friend that got furloughed for 8 months and then hired him last december.
definitely a good old boy hire, but he was really great at the job for a 60 year old jumping into a new field. his old company finally came back online last month and hired him back and i hated to lose him.
but... he was 60 and severely overweight. he had 2 procedures in 3 months that took him out for a week each time and he averaged one doctor visit a week.
it's a bad argument.

No chance an employee could win a lawsuit over this.
They might--MIGHT--be eligible for unemployment but that would be the extent of their benefit.
It is foolish to be scared of this vaccine BUT if I decide to mandate it of my employees and one is so scared of it he quits then good riddance. Who wants such people on their payroll?
Most of the unvaccinated employees I have are hourly employees and are mostly black. I will say that after that last outbreak I have very few that have not gotten the vaccine and none presently out because of COVID.

Yeah, why be scared of constant un explained ringing in your ears or horrible period cramps that nobody has any idea why the vaccine would cause. Different strokes for different folk, the virus and the vaccine are not a one size fits all. Novavax and natural immunity are handling the variants much better than the three initial vaccines.
Do you have this same outlook for those who partook in the BLM protests and riots? Would you want crazy people pushing a false narrative and possibility associated with violence and looting on your payroll? Who wants such people on their payroll?
Do you employ anyone that has ever been arrest before? Who wants such people on their payroll?

Just say you are vaccinated.

If Trump was still president he would put a mandate in place as well.
But what's telling is no one is coming forward to say why government overreach is a good thing.

1. Russian roulette? With what, a revolver with one round amongst 100,000+ chambers?
2. Government didn't mandate that I was vaccinated - my mother did. I had no problems getting my children vaccinated for childhood diseases with real, substantiated history of damage to children and infants.
Has anyone confirmed that more children have been shot in Chicago this year than have died from Covid nationwide on 2021? Saw that on another thread.

Absolutely nothing...since I have been fully vaccinated since April.

No. We work for a private employer.

Just quit and move on if it that big of a deal for you.

See. we agree here. I don’t think I should have to pay for smokers, the unemployed by choice, or fatasses’ medical care due to their own negligent choices either.

And I have anecdotal evidence that vaccine causes zero side effects.
And your anecdotal evidence falls flat in the face of studies that show side effects do exist.
Myocarditis
I would add more as I know they exist but for some reason they don’t come up when you do a mass search.
For people that have had Covid and are functionally immune, you are asking them to take a risk by taking a vaccine that has published side effects, some severe to basically make someone else feel more comfortable.
Imagine a large scale game of Russian roulette. 75% of the players get some benefit from playing and some people die from playing. You are one of the ones that get zero benefit from it but the crowd still wants you to play because it makes them feel better.
What do you do?
