Your state income tax rate may soon shoot to the highest in the nation.

The Covid-19 event will result in a steep decline in the collection of sales taxes, income taxes, gasoline taxes, gaming taxes and oil money. With the way the State Constitution limits what the legislature can do, it will be impossible to cut enough to balance the budget without doing things like shutting half the universities in the state (Ancillary benefit).

We need a state Constitutional convention to replace EWE's flawed document.

Not me, I live in Louisiana. JBE won’t increase my taxes. I’m confident

I’m also very sarcastic.

Well, this is a short-term issue. We do not know what the budget revenue will be in June. Try not to jump the gun with these pronouncements. But, if I keep my job and have a bit higher taxes for a while, so be it.

What the frick are you talking about?

The state constitution and other governmental red tape really only allows budget changes in certain areas, mainly education and healthcare. This is why things like funding to colleges. TOPS, and health programs get highly debated every year with budget talks.

He is also too dense to realize that we have more state funded 4 year universities in LA than the state of Florida which has quadruple our population. And some, like the money pit known as SUNO, are a mile away from another state funded 4 year university.
