So 3 out of 4 people still claim a religion.

I’m surprised it’s that high

There are Many forms of government in the world also, doesn’t mean they are all good. Again, you don’t have to accept it but doesn’t make it any less true. People who want nothing to do with God on earth aren’t going to spend eternity with him. God isn’t going to force them into heaven against their will.

See I can’t believe that. There are plenty of non-Christians in the world who have devoted their whole lives to helping those in need. They are some of the kindest and down to earth people you’ll meet but then you have people like you saying they’re doomed to be in hell for eternity. That kind of belief also only hurts growing the religion.

But I also know that not all Christians have that kind of thinking.

I understand what you are saying but the core issue is mankind has been doomed since the original sin by Adam and Eve. It’s not how God intended things to happen but man used his free will to choose his destiny (separated from God) so we have no righteousness or “goodness” in ourselves. The main purpose of the Bible to explain that there is hope and a path back to God through Christ. If God let people into heaven by “good works”, #1 How does one know when they have done enough or the right ones #2. God would be lying because he clearly we can’t get there by our own works.

Actually the message is appealing because it indicates you can know 100% without a doubt where you will spend eternity and gives hope to the hopeless. People who view it is as narrow and closed minded simply doesn’t understand we don’t get to make the rules to the game. It’s free and open to all who choose to believe it. Simple as that.

This is why I moved my family to a county that is 80+% religious. People are much nicer and crime is very low. This country needs more Jesus in their lives.

Many of the worst moments in human history happened because of religion.

This. Pretty much all evangelicals have lots of guns and most Catholics are little wusses with no guns

Just as wrong as all the exit polls. People claim that because they are worried about repercussions of admitting they are Christians. Same as admitting your a Republican or are going to vote for trump.
The same polling company will probably also tell you that 73.2% of Americans support transgender rights. They use it to fit their narrative.

Russia's homicide rate is twice the US's

LINK

But it plummeted as the country became more religious under Putin

LINK

Russia is not a good example to use in this debate either way

A civilized society needs rules to limit the crazies acting crazy. The threat of jail is obviously not enough or there would be no crime.

Crime rates have been falling over last 30 years even as society becomes less religious so explain that one.

This does explain the massive increase of young girls flocking to porn though.

This only goes to 2014, but this is the number of murders by year, starting in 1950.

and I am sure in the 50s and 60s, there were more murders that went unaccounted for.

This is just for the people who will say "and that's why things are getting worse".

Not to mention, this says "no religion". Although I was raised Catholic, I consider myself to not have a religion, I have my own views that doesn't fit into a religion. I believe in a higher power, but I don't think all the religious stuff is needed.

I haven't been religious since about 12 but I don't have the need to show how superior I am by trumpeting it everywhere.

The preachy nonreligious annoy me more than religious people ever do.

Then they suck at being Christians.

Wonder how many of them shook their heads at Peter's cowardice this morning?
