It's close for sure. I hope the NBA, NFL, NASCAR, MLB all get juiced for every dime they own and then fold. I've grown to love Covid and social distancing in order to hurt these woke fools. Same with the athletes who don't want to put on their shows anymore because they want to hold out to make a statement. They're cutting off their own heads and don't even realize it and it's glorious to see. It was due for a reset anyway, but man is it going to be a huge one this time.

I don't think they're necessarily over, but I do think they're seriously taking for granted how much bullshite white people are willing to swallow. We may all fall on our swords and agree that "black lives matter". We may even honestly believe it. But constant politics in sports you watch and follow is going to get old.
When the ratings dip because the audience decides they're being alienated, it's going to get the owner's attentions.
I used to be a pretty big NFL fan. That year the Ravens kneeled in London for the anthem, I was so turned off. I mailed in my fantasy leagues and barely watched shite. You tell me that now the NBA and NFL will be pushing that shite at me like it's on steroids, my interest will fall at a fevered pitch. And I certainly don't think I'll be alone.
Will I get on Facebook and hem and haw about it? I doubt it. I just won't care. You get enough people not caring and it's like cancer to a sports league.

I know I’m done the second I watch the knee go down, but I also know I don’t represent the vast number of fans who don’t like it, but they’ll sure as hell endure it because football is more important to them than standing against disgracing this country.

I quit the NFL for two years in 2016. Watched some in 2019 when kneeling was a thing of the past.
I won’t watch any NFL if things go as I expect.
I do hope college football is not ruined for me. I might...just might...get tired of watching 2019 LSU reruns after 5 or 6 years...

Me too, but I’m afraid we are at the door to an inescapable room. I love LSU as much as anyone, but I’m honest to God not willing to put it above my devotion to my country and what it stands for, which IS justice. If we’re waiting until America is perfect before we stand, we will never ever stand.

It may be but it has nothing to do with politics. The insurance and liability has become unsustainable at high school and under. Every year I see schools announcing they will only have flag football from now on. Can’t have college football without kids who grew up playing football. Can’t have pro football without college. I say good riddance. The whole thing has become unwatchable anyway. When we have future teachers, lawyers, doctors, engineers, etc playing football as an extracurricular again, I will be more interested.

The game is watered down anyway. I watched an old DVD of the Saints playing the Eagles in 2009, and it looked like a different sport from 2020 NFL football. Every year the doctors, lawyers, and plain old wimps gain more ground and the rulebook gets tweaked. As with the frog boiling in the pot, the change is gradual, you don't realize how bad it's become until you do watch an old game. And as we see in so many places lately, the slippery slope is real.
