His whole schtick has been that COVID-19 and the shutdowns is a charade.
Ok, fine. We'll roll with that. Even if the mortality rate is low, people are still getting sick enough to be unable to work. There's no "charade" about that. Even if it's "just like the flu". You get enough people sick and you're likely going to have production issues. Half of the Smithfield plant when it shut down tested positive with the virus and were sick.
This was going to happen whether we quarantined or not to industries who are in close contact with each other.

I know one of the higher ups at the Tyson plant in Northwest Arkansas. I asked him a couple of days ago if this was all a big deal and he is pretty nervous. He said inside the plant is where you want to be. they've taken stupid crazy measures to ensure safety, but alot of the workers are immigrants who live like 20 people in a house and don't follow the social distancing rules so it's screwing the workforce. He said for every week that ONE processing plant is down, it equals about 10 million meals. He is pretty nervous how all of this is going to play out.

Ok. I thought this one and others were shutdown due to employees being sick.
Pretty sure the enhanced unemployment goes on through June.
I'm ready for everything to open back up.

I’m sure some are sick. I know a previous poster described who the employees are, but I know a lot of food supply chain people are worried because people “fired themselves” and are now making more than before because of the federal $600/week.

This past Saturday there was a Tyson plant here in north Alabama having a parking lot sale. You could get either 22 lb box of chicken fingers or 20 lb box of leg quarters for $10 each.

Their processing plants are closed due to the shutdown. If they are allowed to re-open or are deemed essential by government, employees can go back to work and start processing food again.
That'll likely stop the food supply chain from breaking.

Did you even read? They're shut down because of outbreaks at the plants. Do you want a bunch of sick people packing food you're going to eat?
