Like limit SNAP to non processed foods and the cheapest bread in the store. Make it all meat (ground beef, chicken thighs/whole chickens, cheaper cuts of pork) veggies (canned primarily), beans, rice, flower and milk. Salt, pepper, granulated garlic.

Doing that could help combat obesity, force self reliance, and maybe even provide minor incentives to get off food stamps.

Here's another example of a pea-brain thought.

Consider this... if you have a choice of working a part time job paying $500 per week plus $250 in food stamps, do you have any incentive to work hard to get a job that pays $750 per week but taken off of food stamps?

Narrow-minded people don't understand how welfare demotivates the population and negatively impacts the economy.

No problem with this....a lot of elderly people who can’t drive themselves use food stamps.

First thing I thought of. Also those that are mentally and/or physically disabled that can't drive.

Many of the people bitching on here have never spent one minute in the life of someone that is part of the working poor. Instead of bitching maybe just be thankful you are not in the situation to depend on food stamps to live.

The delivery fees would likely only be a fraction more than bus fare or an Uber. Consider round trip and it might even be less and actually save the person some money.

I'd bitch a lot less if those people with food stamp cards didn't flourish them like a platinum Visa.

I’ve been poor and have never gotten food stamps once.

But I have paid people 50 cents on the dollar for theirs. It’s a good deal

Food deserts are very real. Someone without transportation past a bus or bike in an inner city doesn't have the options you or I do. Whole foods isnt setting up in the inner city either.

All the unwed baby making machines generation after generation gaming the system tell me otherwise.

free or cheap housing
welfare
food stamps
long term unemployment getting extended over and over

these people don't want to work...they'd be taking a pay cut and might actually have to work.

white trash, black, hispanics etc...it's an epidemic across all demographics.

these programs were meant to be a helping hand in a time of need...not a way of life.

Before there was a government teet to suckle, there were churches and family that helped you out...and you know what? there was accountability.
Your family/church wasn't going to put up with no job, laziness for long...you be back on the streets if you tried to pull that trick.

The government should never be in the charity business...especially when they force the working populace to "donate"

give freely of your own money to charity...give as much or as little as you'd like, but being charitable should be a choice.

I was gonna say "well that keeps them out of Walmart" but I don't ever go to Walmart. So maybe it's better to just keep them all going to the Walmart...
