I work in healthcare, so I get the flu shot every year. Last year, I got the flu shot, and my older kid did as well. My wife and the other kid didn't. The wife and younger kid got a wicked case of the flu that the first kid and I didn't get. I know, csb, but everyone in our household is getting one this year.

Only got it when my job required it, never had the flu
Not sure what I will do if kids ask us to get it since we have grand babies now, I had no issue getting whooping cough vaccine before they were born

C.
It has mercury and can cause Alzheimers. It’s always fighting the variant from the year before.
Also, I believe in natural immunity and have not had the flu in over 20 years

I used to get it every year. I stopped getting it about ten years ago and get the flu way less than I did before

A flu shot is the one shot I do get annually.

I’ve never had a flu shot. Had the flu about 15 years ago. It was brutal but it’s the only time I’ve ever had it. I don’t see a need for it.

I got it when I worked in a hospital and it was "required" but never did before and haven't since.

Used to get it annually for years until the Covid vaccine debacle.

Pretty sure they are very different types of vaccines.. but I'm jumping in late and it's probably been beaten to death already.

I took them religiously for 25 years, didn’t take one last year and not planning to this year either.

When I was a nurse hospitals offered them but at some point they started requiring them.If you didn’t you had to wear a mask all day at work.

Interesting thing happened,an old Infectious Disease Dr. came to ICU to see a pt.I asked him if he took flu shots. His reply-“No,I don’t believe in them”
I was shocked but I started thinking maybe he knows something the rest of us don’t.

Usually get it when i am at doctors office already unless that happens to be well into the season and have already read current strains are very different. Will continue this.

E. Occasionally got the shot when convenient; will continue to get the shot when convenient.

Not going to go out of my way, but if offered at work or the doctor's office, I'll take it.

There is research to suggest that getting the flu shot every 3 years is just as effective as getting it yearly, that is unless there is some new strain the shot addresses that hasn't been addressed in the previous 3 years. We are really bad at guessing what strains are going to give us the most trouble so for the vast majority every 3 years would be a good suggested interval.

Now, doctors and the pharmacy industry aren't going to like that so you might never see that widespread recommendation.

I don't know what you are worried about in the shot itself, formaldehyde sounds scary but we already have it in our body from natural metabolic processes. It is used to inactivate the live virus before they put it in the vaccine, there is some small amount left behind in the process, they don't just put it in there as an added ingredient. I am sure if we came up with a new way to inactivate viruses people would find a new reason why that method was bad for you.

You are right to not trust everything presented in front of you, and don't take my word for this, research and do what is best for you and your family. Just know virtually every resource is going to have money or politics behind it in some fashion, so take it with a grain of salt. And please, don't trust these politicians on stage, they are putting on a show, science is real, but it is often politicized, just because it is your team doing the politicizing doesn't make them right.

I hate it and the fact that I’m forced to get it as required for employment.

Otherwise I would have to be masked at all times while on campus. That ain’t happening.

My girlfriend’s job was like that…. Until this year. They dropped the vax mandate
