Your advice is terrible. People should still get the shot. Sorry man.

I got it a couple days ago. The season could roll into March so I'll be somewhat protected for a few weeks. It was free with insurance, so why the hell not.

I actually just called Walgreens and asked the pharmacist. She told me the shot includes four strains, one of which is the one going around now.

Eh, sounds like she left out some info. They tried to include previous seasons' H3N2 flu in this year's vaccine, but growing it in chicken eggs causes it to adaptively mutate. So the strain that's going around now is actually a mutated version of the one in the vaccine. They're not a good match in spite of being the same base strain, which is why the vaccine was relatively ineffective this year.

I'm not saying don't get the shot. Just be aware that the H3N2 strain in the shot might only offer partial protection at best, and it's going to take you a week or two to mount an antibody response to any of the strains regardless. You'll still need to take other precautions to avoid exposure, especially for the first few days.

The vaccine is approximately 90% flu b and 10% flu a and the strain most are getting is flu a. So the vaccine really won't prevent it.

So you’re saying the strain most people are getting is included in the flu shot?

Go read up on how many people are killed and injured each year due to medical errors and keep that in mind when you get lectured by a "medical professional" on the importance of getting that shot.

I bet it’s significantly less than those who died without treatment.

If this is a troll, this is a stupid thing to troll about. If not, well, then it's just stupid.

Flu shot is still a viable option at this point.

I wouldn't get it.

I have never had the flu shot and I haven't had the flu since I was in school, and even then I may have just had the cold.

I don't see how yall can have blind faith in the big pharm companies to produce a good product without side effects. Especially to IV that shite like an heroin addict.

The flu shot is what spreads the flu. Don't ever get it.

I've never been in a car wreck so why should I wear my seat belt?

I've never accidentally shot anyone while hunting so why do you care if I sometimes point my gun in your direction?

I've never gotten an STD before so why bother wearing a condom when I have sex with a person I just met at the bar?

I’ve gotten the flu shot for years. Never had the flu. Only side effect I’ve ever had is a sore arm for a day or so. Pretty much every insurance covers it for free. I’ve never paid for it.

I don’t get it for me. I get it for my kids and the other kids I’m around. When mine were babies, we didn’t let anyone without Flu or Pertusis shots hold them because they couldn’t get it yet.

More than half of the 53 kids that have died from the flu this year were healthy with no other sickness.

17,000+ cases confirmed in just this past week.

Do it for those that are too young or sick to get the flu vaccine.

So if the flu shot was as effective as a seat belt, a condom, or not pointing your gun at someone, then people still wouldn't get sick as shite from the flu even with the "vaccine". Or end up worse off after taking the vaccine. You also ignore the part where the vaccine has the flu virus in it, and the other 'fillers' that you are shooting up into your body. Now how does shooting up some small amount of a virus into your veins, the same as wearing a seat belt, a gun, or condom? Or is part of your fetish is to get your bf to urinate some of his STDs onto your open wounds to help better acclimate your body to the STD so you can better fight it off later?

The Drs got me hooked on their flu vaccines, so now they are cutting me off from it. So I gotta get mine from the local black market black guys, and I usually shoot up 3-4 times a day. But beware, they have a stronger vaccine out there and people are OD on it after shooting it up. Its crazy.!

Doesn't hurt to have one either

No its not always effective. Flu doesn't discriminate, even if you wash your hands and everything else, it still can be not enough.

A lot of times it can help make the flu experience much more mild/less severe. Sure you may deal with the flu but sometimes a vaccine can help make it not as harsh
