Flu season is already underway in Australia and it's a bad one

20000 cases, 82 deaths get your shot this year

Those bugs can’t fight the reverse gravity to make it onto this side of the equator

I have this weird idea that the flu shot is spreading the flu more than it is helping. I think it also contributes to the viruses mutating into resistant strains. The flu shot last year was only 8% effective. In other words, the only people that got the shot and did not get the flu were the people that probably wouldn't have gotten the flu even if they did not get the shot.

I never get the shot and I’ve onlly had the flu one time in the last 20 years at least.

I had the flu twice over my lifetime. One of those was when I had the flu shot. I worked with a guy that was paralyzed from the waist down due to a flu vaccine. I'm trying to figure out why the push is on for more vaccines.
1. They don't work.
2. They aren't tested for safety or efficacy.

Resistant to what? Your immune system?
Either your immune system picks up on flu viron antigens or it doesn’t.
It’s not like abusing antibiotics.

You provide two anecdotal examples and then conclude that vaccines do not work.
Researchers over the last decades have done countless empirical (i.e. NOT anecdotal, like your ridiculous examples) studies to conclude that vaccines do indeed work and that they are indeed safe.

Idiotic antivaxxer: “Vaccines aren’t tested for efficacy”

CDC conducts studies to measure the benefits of seasonal flu vaccination each flu season to help determine how well flu vaccines are working. These vaccine effectiveness (VE) studies regularly assess and confirm the value of flu vaccination as a public health intervention. Study results of vaccine effectiveness can vary based on study design, outcome(s) measured, population studied and the season in which the flu vaccine was studied.
Really?

I’m actually confused as to what he has been talking about.
I don’t recall a push for “more” vaccines.
Just the same advisements they have been for years.

quote:GBS?
I worked with a guy that was paralyzed from the waist down due to a flu vaccine.
quote:
The background rate for GBS in the United States is about 80 to 160 cases of GBS each week, regardless of vaccination. The data on the association between GBS and seasonal flu vaccination are variable and inconsistent across flu seasons. If there is an increased risk of GBS following flu vaccination it is small, on the order of one to two additional GBS cases per million doses of flu vaccine administered.
quote:Your friend was just unlucky to develop the disorder. The vaccine might have kicked it off, but he was fricked regardless.
Studies suggest that it is more likely that a person will get GBS after getting the flu than after vaccination.
quote:Because there are mountains of data proving that they work, and that the benefits outweigh the risks by orders of magnitude.
I'm trying to figure out why the push is on for more vaccines.

A 2 minute Google search and a 5 minute article read told me that your 8% number isn't true.

My job requires the flu shot. I get one every year. Never had the flu.

I never get the flu shot and never get the flu. This year my wife, myself, and our toddler got the shot. Naturally we all got the flu.
