I got the flu shot and I haven't had the flu yet, however; I did have a really bad cold a week or two before Christmas that kept me down for 2 or 3 days. I had flu like symptoms, but it wasn't the flu. I am always curious as to how many people who claim to have the flu are self diagnosing themselves because they have symptoms.
Up until 2 or 3 years ago, I use to be one of those "I don't need the flu shot", but then I realized there is no point for me to no get it. It takes all of 20 seconds to get the shot, and even if it doesn't protect from all strains, being protected from some strains decreases your chances of getting the flu than if you had 0 protection.

My exceptional 9 month old was one of 5 people at her clinic this year to hit positive for both A and B after having her shots. Wife has B, 3 yr old had shot and has avoided so far, I had symptoms today, all of us are in the Tamiflu.

Why aren't the flu vaccines working?

GET THE FLU SHOT PEOPLE. Don’t be stupid. It is good and accurate this year.
For the millionth time, THE FLU SHOT DOES NOT KEEP YOU FROM GETTING THE FLU.

Daughter was diagnosed with the flu this afternoon . My two other kids are down too, not sure if they have flu or a cold, although I suspect the latter. I am just starting to feel better from a week of sinus crap but I dread I’ll get the flu now.

It lessens the chance and reduces the severity.
My brakes don’t keep me from rear ending somebody, but I still get em serviced periodically.

I've never had the flu shot and have never had the flu. Not sure why I'd start now. My wife and kids get it. The strand of the flu that was going around last year was a different strand that was in the flu shot.
