Jindal was governor too. Why didn't he do it?

Because we don’t live in a dictatorship and we need the legislature to actually pass a law and then the governor to sign it. My pointing out JBE being a PI attorney is to point out how deeply rooted they are in our government.

Don't forget that this hurts billable hours for the insurance defense bros.

Everyone shits on PI attorneys till they get injured then it’s what can you do for me

Most of us probably aren't trying to sue someone's insurance company for a "soft tissue damage" from a 5 mph fender bender

Weird melt. Maybe you should focus more on why desantis is in bed with the GOPe than some shite that doesn’t even affect your life

You think insurance premiums are going to go down and that’s why the insurance lobby had Ronnie bend the knee?

Absolute statements about stuff like this where 100s of people reading this post can cite anecdotal evidence...

I dream of a day when ambulance chasers are put out of business. Ban advertising of their services except in the yellow pages.

That was kind of him to not point out exactly which State was THE judicial hellhole.

Get ready for the massive influx of ambulance chase commercials in Louisiana just like what Texas passes similar legislation.

Is it even possible to have more of them?

Venue matters more these days than the state laws. If you’re in a blue county with big verdicts insurance will pay. This will matter more in places like the Panhandle or the wealthy counties down south.

Was Florida not a comparative negligence or fault state already?

Went back to contributory from comparative. So defendant liable for 51% only pays 51%. Plaintiff liable for 51% gets zero.

95% or more of PI cases never actually go to trial.

Prior to that everything is negotiated anyway.

This doesn't look like some major reform to me.

Trial awards create quantum values used in settlement negotiations.

I don’t agree in banning them from advertising outside of yellow pages, but I wish LA would take a page out of Vermont’s play book and ban billboards in general.

So which firm do you work for? Are you a bus stop bench type of lawyer or a billboard near the ghetto lawyer?

This.

I’ve been traveling i22 a lot for work recently and there are zero billboards. It’s so refreshingly beautiful.
