all the legal stuff aside, seems like at some point self defense would kick in and the kid gets subdued.

“Subdued”.

Child would go flying like Ben Stiller’s adopted son in Tropic Thunder.

What a bitch. I could easily destroy a whole class of 5 year olds.

An entire class of 5 year olds would overwhelm and kick your arse.

I call fake news on this story. You don't need to be Joe Clark to handle a kindergartner.

I had a birthday party for my daughter yesterday and there were 11 five year olds. I am fairly confident that I could take them all at one time if my life depended on it.

No way. Kindergarteners have very little sense of team work. Ever see a T ball game? A couple of chokeslams though desks will take the fight out of the rest of the bunch.

Well, if you remember the world we live in, if you hit a child, even in self defense, you are likely getting fired and sued.

Trust me, there are posters on here who will trumpet, "There is never ANY reason to lay hands on a child!"

Corporal punishment needs to be reinstated.

Or simply swinging a desk or a chair could get several of them in one go.

It would look like scene out of The Matrix where all the Smith clones attack.

This happens far too often. My wife teaches special needs children from the age of preschool through elementary school. More that once she has come home bruised and beat up. Last year she was hit in the back of the head when a student threw a golf ball sized rock at her from 3 feet away and had to get a CT scan. Last week she came home with her shirt bloody and her face looked like a bear had clawed it.

Those were all injuries from children. The teachers are not allowed to restrain the children in any way. Their only course of legal action is to get into the fetal position and take it. If she protected herself by blocking a punch and that block resulted in so much as a bruise, she would be fired and arrested. I've watched it happen to someone she taught with.

The kicker is nothing ever happens to these children, or their parents. Literally nothing.

Yep. Many, many parents have no interest in disciplining their children, which is why this happens so often.

The destruction of the family unit is a real thing.

Until that changes, it's only going to get worse.
