Florida has some really messed up Covid numbers

I know this week we had the revelation that labs were reporting positives only. But we should have seen this coming based on what’s been going on there the last month with the data. See the two stories below:
Fox News July 16: Florida showing 31% positive rate for people under 18
The important numbers:

The important numbers:
So we are to believe that over that last month, ~17k kids have been tested and ~13k were positive for a 76% positivity rate?!?!
This is fricking bullshite.

Of course you don’t. And who should when shite like this is happening? And as obvious as this is, how could people not find out? The problem is that no one will do anything about it. People are actually going to believe that 30% of Florida’s kids... nearly 1.3 million out of 4.3 million... have covid right now. Idiots.

Positivity rate used to mean something. And it’s even a factor from moving from phase to phase. This is pure manipulation.

They are also saying that some places are saving their numbers for a week or more, then turning them in. They then all get credit for the day they were turned in.

You’ve monetized covid and shut down elective procedures. What the frick did you expect to happen? Labs aren’t getting paid for routine bloodwork. Hospitals aren’t taking elective surgeries and procedures. This is all they have to stay afloat so... here we are. Supply and demand.

For the most part kids only get tested when they have symptoms. Kids don’t fall into the groups who have to get tested for work etc. That percentage is still high.

Also, Rick Scott fricked up the unemployment system when he was Gov. Desantis has left it broken. He keeps claiming it is working, or that it is all claimants filling it out wrong. That is a lie. I son't know the numbers now, but a few weeks ago, 1.3 million had been paid. 900,000 had not. That is almost 4 months into it.

Anyone who believes the doctors that see these numbers and are trotted out on national news to say the nation needs to cower in place is a fool. This is 100% politicized bullshite. Anything to influence the election and give the democrats ammo against the GOP, even if it means kids that don't see a classroom for a year, the destruction of countless small (and large) businesses, and all of the other REAL side-effects of a long term shutdown.

I'd likely place a large wager of money that the pediatric centers doing these tests did like some of these other shite places and sent only positive results in and not the full allotment of tests given.
