Can’t wait. We’ll basically be dropping our son off at IMG, then just exploring the area. Both Saturday and Sunday. We’re driving from BSL…so we’ll have our own vehicle.

Bradenton, where IMG is located, doesn’t have a whole lot going for it.. but right across the line in Sarasota is Siesta Key beach, which is one of the nicest beaches in America, make sure you dont miss it.. Longboat/Lido are nice beaches as well.. Also may want to check out St Armands Circle, and the Ringling House with its banyan trees.

Anna Maria island is close to IMG. Its a great little island too. Not sure how far down you'll be driving. Sarasota traffic this time of year is a nightmare but as someone said St. Armands Circle is great and Lido beach is right there. Have lunch at the Columbia or the Tommy Bahama restaurant on the circle- best people watching around. South of Lido is Casey Key, where Stephen King lives. Then Manasota key- which is beautiful and worth the drive.

I bet. I know several that have either moved permanently or have a second house there

If i'm going to texas, put me down for college station area.

Bay St. Louis would be an option. I sure wish MS had high school wrestling.

Real estate there was absolute insanity a few months ago, its always a hot spot for NY snowbirds, a lot of them have just moved there now.

Great island though

We’ve been researching places south along that coast all morning. We are very much looking forward to Saturday. Sunday looks like bad weather, but we’ll see.

This is the OT - don't we all have Gulfstreams ?

Mississippi doesn’t have HS wrestling? My oldest is on a club team and loves it.

Very limited on the Coast. About 4-5 teams, in its infancy.

My mom moved to Anna Maria Island. The beaches are beautiful. It's not overly built up. There is a lot to do in area.

the OT loves them some NOLA bashing. He could start the same thread in another week and the OT would lube themselves up.

Why stay in one of the worst areas of the country?

The population growth of the south east says otherwise.

Most probably because people are shoveling themselves out of their houses every morning in parts of the country. You never have to do that in the southeast.

And liberalism makes California that less appealing to half the population.

This is a Louisiana website and one of it’s cities is known globally. It also happens to be the murder capitol of the United States.
