re: Flat Bill hat question. Why do homies leave the stickers on the bill?

They do it because when you buy something new, it comes with all the tags. So if you have the tags on, it must be a new hat. Ghetto way of showing you have money to buy something new. Then it became a "fashion"

To show that's it's new. It's the same thing with the white t shirt. It's clean and new like it was just bought.

Stupidity. It's really that simple.

To show that it's not only new, but officially licensed and authentic. Anyone can go to the back room in Chinatown and get a knock off but it takes a real baller to walk into Lids and get the real thing.

not sure how much you know about knockoffs from china but pretty much every knockoff from there always has offically authentic tags, stickers, etc

It's amazing what people will do or wear to appear cool. If you have to try, you just aren't that cool.

Homies
It's all about being L-O-U-D.

same reason for shoes. When I worked at footlocker, every monday someone would bring in shoes they had worn out to return. They buy outfits to wear to the club then return it. That way they wear something new everytime and spend no money

So you know it's the real deal and not a knock off. How else will people know you paid $30 for that hat.
Or so the bouncer knows to not let you in.

I took the size label off a brother's Timberlane jeans that was on the back of the leg... He told me he left it on on purpose, so I put it back for him...

Return them and swap for a brand new one

The most absurd example of this I've seen in real life was a pick up soccer game where this ghetto Mexican kid had the tags still on his soccer cleats

I honestly have to stifle laughter when I see some of those idiots.
The funny thing is, with as many people that post in this place, there are more than a few that do this very thing. Probably won't claim it in this thread though.

Started out so they could return them.
Then became a fad.
