So you think that just because Reedy Creek now will owe the state that Reedy Creek all of a sudden has all kinds of extra money?

All the state did here was become a middle man with a profit margin (tax) built in.

Yes Disney isn't stupid and its very possible they could come up with a plan that works out better for them. Its also very possible they just screwed up here.

It's just wild to think 11 long months ago these same people fully supported Florida giving Disney the sole right to censor social media nobody else got... despite knowing disney was uber woke and incredibly pro lgbtwhatever.

You mean like how you repeatedly followed up on the thread from earlier today insisting that the bill prevented kids from telling teachers and counselors at school how they were being abused?

Would you like to jump in the other thread to discuss it there? I haven’t ran from any of my statements. I see no reason to discuss a different threads topic in here. Would you like to discuss the topic of this thread?

So this is what you’re pivoting to after thoroughly exposing yourself as a moron earlier by saying the new florida bill prevents students from telling teachers or counselors they are being abused?

Did he really post that?

It’s all in the other thread if you would like to read it there. I struggle why posters don’t want to discuss the topic of the actual thread

Reedy Creek no longer exists. The bond obligations still must be paid. Those debts are now the states, AKA the tax payors. That’s how it works.

The district has about a billion dollars in outstanding bonds that need to be dealt with. That burden, as state lawmakers admitted, will fall on local taxpayers.

Good let the liberals of Orlando pay off the bonds.

Disney doesn’t have a tax exempt status. They pay 100s of millions in taxes.

As an Orange County resident I’m ok with a tax increase if it means Disney being put in their place. Hell id pay more in taxes for them to gtfo for good. There’s plenty of wealthy libs in this county to pick up the bill. And since when do libs care about taxes being increased?

I didn't see the other thread. Happy to take a look if you point it out or link it.

But, on its face it's a really, really dumb statement. I've seen you have opinions that are based on what you want to be true before. I'm guessing this is one of those examples. A logical person would realize how dumb of an idea that is.

The debate is centered around the idea that the increased revenues aren’t enough to offset the additional obligations, leading to the possibility of higher taxes. Apparently, Reedy Creek operates at a loss.

Y’all can debate the gay bill, but I find this tax district stripping to be really interesting.

Correct. But the state wasn't collecting tax from "Reedy Creek" to pay for the infrastructure because they handled it themselves. Now the state will collect tax from Disney to pay for it.

You aren't wrong in that the tax payers now have a larger burden and liability of infrastructure to maintain that was previously maintained by Disney.

But Disney wasn't paying all their taxes and doing the work themselves lol. The entire point is Disney was paying less taxes AND doing the work themselves.

Correct. However this isn’t a financial thing for Disney, that is minimal. Its a control thing.Making this a “tax exempt issue” is as accurate as saying “it’s a don’t say gay bill” It is a financial thing though for the taxpayers

Exactly. AND if the county taxes all go up 15-20% that means that Disney's would additionally....
