Idk where all these team chimp chodes are getting their info from. They must be watching too much Planet of the Apes. Fact is, the "fight" would play out exactly like this:

5 wolves vs 1 chimp while 4 chimps watch panicked and screeching.

5 wolves vs 1 chimp while 3 chimps watch panicked and screeching.

5 wolves vs 1 chimp while 2 chimps watch panicked and screeching.

5 wolves vs 1 chimp while 1 chimp watches panicked and screeching.

5 wolves vs 1 chimp

5 wolves devouring 5 fresh chimp carcasses.

How about one silverback and 5 wolves? I bet on the silverback.

I'm gonna go ahead and sort of disagree with you there

Chimps have superior range and grappling ability that wolves don't

Sure wolves have superior clamping power with their jaws, but that's all they have... and they have to get right on the chimp to inflict a bite, but once they do, they have no other course of action, while the chimp has at least four ways of counter attacking... 2 arms, 2 legs, and a mouth... assuming the wolf takes one of his extremedies

Once a wolf takes his shot and clamps down, he has no way of defending his body from the hell that a chimp will rain down... fists of bricks that will break those dog bones

That's not what wolves do though. They'll get a bite in and cause him to focus on that wolf and as soon as he's got his back to the others to get that one off him, the others bite him from behind and that one gets back. They don't stay in there till he's pretty much bled out and too weak to hurt them.

Just stick and move. Stick and move. Now if the other chimps happen to do something completely not chimp like and all jump in there to help and never break formation then they might be able to keep the wolves off them for awhile, but they don't have the wolves stamina. Eventually, one of them is taking a bite. Then another one. And on and on till he's dead.

Real chimps have basically two ways of inflicting damage. And they normally only use one of them. Striking. They CAN bite, but it's not normally something they do until their target is subdued because they aren't built for it any more than you are. They don't choke because they aren't that smart.

Wolves take shots from elk and moose and buffalo hooves and walk it off. I'm pretty sure a chimp is going to do about as much to a wolf as you punching a pit bull. It's basically just putting something too close to those teeth and causing it to bleed.

Chimpanzees can beat the hell out of a human. But a wolf is going to kill it and eat it. And five of them.... no chance. The chimps are wolf turds walking

You took the words right out of my mouth. However, your writing and logic is much better than mine.

Great job, Captain Rumbeard.

They use a twig or a blade of grass to get at them in their mounds. This impressive tool making ability is why some folks here think they can whip a pack of wolves.

That's a pretty big leap from digging for grubs to launching spears with accuracy at a pack of wolves.

And they can communicate with each other via sign language for complicated formations and maneuvers.

And you don't think wolves communicate with each other as well?

Wolves are social predators, they hunt as a team. Plus they're intelligent. Their hunting abilities would win the day.

Also they are huge.

And fearless.

Great story.

I will take the chimps. They are 3x stronger than humans and can bite your face off. The wolves only offense is their teeth while chimps can bite and rip apart a prey with hands and arms.

Interesting 5 on 5 here. I'd say the Chimps could win because of there capabilities, however, it's in their nature to fear such predators. Baboons might be more willing to fight in this case, but may lose to wolves.

the wolves would win bc they would bite the chimps necks and not let go. how long do u think a chimp can survive and hit back at a wolf with a crushed esophagus?

I dont see why some rich zoos put on these animal death fights i mean id pay to watch this

It's amazing all the 100% facts that are given in here. One guy says chimps are 5x stronger, one says 10x stronger, some say 2x as strong as a man......and now we have TT saying chimps are 3x as strong as humans.....

I'm amused at all the people that claim chimps would just rip the legs off the wolves and beat them with it, lol.

Also, why has no one in the OT set this up yet?

Wolves kill the majority of their prey by immobilization and disembowelment, not like a big cat which goes for the throat. Believe or not, a chimp can bite just as hard as a wolf.

This is completely false. Chimps eat meat. A Lot of meat. They are omnivores.

Are you actually giving wolves the edge in intelligence over chimps?

Only on the OT

The real answer to this is whichever one is attacking and gets the upper hand first. Wolves will turn tail of sett upon by the chimps, same goes the other way.

If either are amassed and out hunting for food, the other better be damn well ready to fight back.

Chimps hunt in packs just like wolves. Just like wolves, they do not like to enter a fair fight. Cornered they are both capable of great ferociousness.

Incorrect.

Despite their hunting behavior, however, only a very tiny percentage–perhaps as small as two percent–of a wild chimp’s diet consists of meat or insects.

This is referenced from works of Jane Goodall who spent a lifetime studying chimps. LINK

I'm not disputing that they don't eat meat, but that it is not their primary source of nutrition.

But I guess Dr. Goodall isn't enough to convince the biologist of the OT.

something weird about that old broad, just devoting your life to camping out in the jungle watching monkeys doesn't necessarily make your observations complete or 100% accurate, anyway, WGAF?
