re: First year with no trick or treaters coming by

I had three last night in Kenilworth. Pretty disappointing.

It was about the same number of trick or treaters for my neighborhood as it has been the last couple of years. I think part of what is killing trick or treating is trunk or treating, which I'm sorry, but is lame as frick. I understanding doing it if you live in either a crappy or very rural area, but not nice neighborhoods. I saw multiple Facebook posts of people that live in very nice places, taking their kids to trunk or treat. I may be lazy but I'm not too lazy to walk around with my daughter for halloween.

Seems to be either a neighborhood had zero kids or thousands of kids. Not sure where they go in Baton Rouge, but I only saw a handful on a side street when I left around 7:00 to attend a show.

All the houses on my street had the lights turned off anyway. A real shame.

We don't ever get trick or treaters. We had a party on Saturday so the house has had a lot of decorations for the past few weeks. I figured somebody would have stopped by after seeing all the decorations and the house lit up.... still nothin' It's pretty strange. We live near downtown lafayette too. I think everyone just gets dropped off in River Ranch.

Things could be worse.

We have out from 7:00 to 7:30 when got in from taking our kiddos. Gave out about 300 pieces, they line up to the street and stay that way, like locusts

I passed out $60 worth of candy, 2/3 pcs per kid. And ran out by 8 pm.

It depends on what neighborhood you live in. Mine has a set of kids in damn near every house. That's mainly why I moved here.

I'd venture a guess that we've reached the point where most kids are too lazy to walk from the curb to your front door.
