Creole jambalaya is a red jambalaya made with shrimp. Grew up having this. Was a New Orleans thing like red beans and rice. I didn't see a brown jambalaya till I moved north of Baton Rouge. I was like WTF is that crap.

I'm 48 and have lived in Louisiana my whole life, and not only have I never eaten jambalaya with shrimp in it, I've never even heard of it.

Took a 20 minute detour on Hwy 90 on my way to Florida so the gubment doesn’t know I’m here. Except for now they do because of the internet and shite.

Frick it. I’m going make another drink.

get this, you may live in lafourche but jambalaya rules are written by Gonzales in Ascension

From terrebonne and grew up eating shrimp jambalaya as well. It’s my favorite actually.

I would say this is a good thing but unfortunately your jambalaya still reeks of seafood.

Only the NOLA area puts shrimp and tomatoes in their jambalaya. Lafourche and Terrebonne parish are close and therefore highly influenced by NOLA. Creole thinks tomatoes and shrimp go in everything which is a mistake. Cajun Cuisine > Creole Cuisine.

Sam’s stopped selling sushi. It was my “on the way home from the store” snack. I had to settle for a Sargento cheese and nut lunchable thing.

This all looks good, but seems mostly wrong.

Like I said red is a New Orleans thing. Mom would cook it with shrimp, crab meat and oysters.

Terrebonne Parish checking in. I'd say shrimp jambalaya is made just as much, if not more than chicken/pork.

And it's brown, like a normal jambalaya, not that red shite.

Just cause you Yankees up the river don't have access to shrimp like we do down here in God's country, don't mean shrimp jambalaya ain't right.
