You’ll never get the same lifespan our a turbocharged motor though. And the power delivery won’t be as even with the four cylinder.

Yea hard to say on the lifespan being a new motor but if it's the hybrid version the power will be instant. That's part of the reason they have the hybrid motor is to take away the turbo lag. I have the new hybrid Tundra and there is zero lag. You step on it and the power is putting you back in your seat instantly.

Don't the Toyota's use the electric motors for acceleration from any speed.. not just from a standstill.. isn't that correct??

The OT has not always been Tundra fans but I have always preferred them to Silverado and F150 issues.

I hope the LC will take the 4Runners place and the new 4Runner will be a removable top/cap Tacoma like gen 1.
One certainly is the GX will have a crazy high ADM. Considering a new Tacoma Offroad is pushing $60k, the T4R will be $60k. The LC will be upmarket from that and the GX will be much more upmarket than the LC. There is too much overlap in MSRP
The missing piece of the lineup are base model Lc600s in the low $90k. Its “available” but all the low spec’d 600s in inventory are in the $108k range.
ETA: dream car for me right now would be a green lifted base 600 with dissent bumpers and rear drawers. Essentially the Slee and Dissent test truck

I'm not into the hardcore wheeling, but am set up to overland comfortably.

That's a cool setup. Would you mind giving a ballpark on what a setup like that cost? Minus thr cost of the 4runner.

I’ll keep riding my 2006 SR5 with the 4.7 ltr V8. 136,000 miles and she’s just getting broken in.

Drawer cost was in the locking HD drawer slides - 400# rated, IIRC, around 420 for 4 slides. One pop up hinge for the food prep table ~ 25$
about three sheets of plywood, two 3/4" and one 1/2", the black covering.... so the drawer setup was definitely not over 650$ and all held in place with 4 D-rings/turnbuckles to the Runner's D rings in the floor.
Tent was $3700
Roof rack was about $1200
I plagiarized the idea from several sites on the net and then drew up the plans.
It gets us to most of the places our Toy hauler and Can Am outty max do and a lot easier.
Almost forgot the build photos: Drawer system

What’s the benefit of the tent? Does being on top keep you off wet ground I guess?

That drawer slide kitchen is niiiiice.

I was fine with a 3 person popup tent but she wanted the roof mounted tent. Even after I told her gentle Ben can climb. For us, the big advantage is being able to camp where you want to that rocks or other obstacles might make getting a nice level floor impossible. Also better view from up high with the entry wall zippered down and just the bug screen still up. Setup is about half the time of the popup and one person can do it versus both of us folding/rolling up the tent and tarp, and I can keep one sleeping bag and two queen pillows inside while the thing is collapsed into travel mode. FWIW, mattress is California King.

That Walmart grocery bag hung 18 inches off the ground will definitely keep bears out of your food. Smart move!

Just as the kitchen didn't stay open all night, the bag didn't stay out either.

What rack is that? I’ve been eyeballing the Prinsu for ours.

My dad had a 2006 4R company car that he drove until December of last year when he retired. That engine is bullet proof.

Sherpa - Crestone. The extruded racks are all pretty much the same.
