Looking at that video.. I do not know how that is possible.. I am impressed when I back my car into a tight parking space..

Can not imagine how fast they are going and a wrong movement in less than a second a disaster…..

right. a women can do all those things. not exactly mission impossible. just be in descent shape. i bet the mental aspect of it is a lot harder. of the military fighter pilots I know and knew, none of them where dumbasses. i assume fighter pilot has a high skill cap.

It's a combination of very high self motivation, intelligence and learned skill. Very few people can do what they do. Even less for the demo teams.

However during the 70s half the Blue Angel Pilots smoked, and could always be found shutting down the hotel bar where ever they were staying the night before the show, not sure what changed.

Lots of pilots smoked back in the day. They were already too fit to suffer the consequences of smoking. That'll get you later.

Yeah she and another female tomcat pilot were pushed through and shouldn’t have been.

She crashed pretty famous tomcat to boot. At least her back seater lived and no injuries on deck.

This girl came up from enlisted to where she is now - she earned it

i agree with that. just seems some people are getting a little carried away with what it takes physically. get through sere, halo and water survival. you have to be in shape but none of that is over and beyond being in descent shape. probably have to pass a solid physical screening for g-forces, equilibrium, etc.

To fly fighter jets, you have to be in extremely good cardiovascular health, to fly for a demonstration team like the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds you have to run 3 miles a day in order to keep your job.

20-25 minutes a day isn't what gets you to "extremely good cardiovascular health"

Well, at least we know she won't be using the rearview mirrors in the cockpit to put on makeup

all of em. need to be in shape, but it's mental. not that physical from a performance standpoint. just be in good shape. there are people in great shape that fail sere and water survival for instance. there are much harder things in the military than the physical part of pilot training. i've done ftxs and deployments that are harder than most training. a lot of these opinions are just people projecting their own lack of fitness. i know women who've scored a 300+ pft in the 18-21 male range. being fit is just habit, work and consistency. you don't need any above average natural physical ability.
