First Coast, -- saw dolphins swimming at the beach!

just got back from visiting my parents down in Fernandina Beach, FL
We were at the beach, and I asked my dad, "Have ya'll ever seen dolphins swim up to the shore at any of the beaches here?"
he said no, they had seen turtles, a few rays, birds, crabs, etc
but never a dolphin
within half an hour, we by God saw dolphins, at least 4 of them. One was an adolescent or baby, about half the size of the others
they jumped and played, and got to within 20 yards of the shore
I managed to grab my phone and take two 2 or 3 minute videos
ONE of them has about 2 seconds of 1 dolphin breaking the surface...
a friend of mine told me that reports of dolphins close to shore are coming in from all up and down the coast
apparantly, the Kung Flu has dramatically reduced the amount of boats in the water and they are coming in to see what's up

You see them all the time. Especially in the morning. There are dolphin tours you can go on at Orange Beach and see dozens of them.

It is shocking to me if I don’t see dolphins when I go to the beach. I rarely don’t see them.

904 native, not unheard of at all. Pretty sure I saw a few protesting off the coast of marineland a couple weekends ago.

I see more dolphins than I’d like to. They are a fricking nuisance while fishing for trout.

Ok? I’ve seen dolphins at the beach more times than not.
I've seen them out in boats almost every time I've gone out on the water, but never have seen them just swim right up to the coast and get that close to swimmers in the ocean

Seeing a dolphin is a curse. It is all but certain once you see one the fish will be gone, the bite will shut down. They are all of the LA coast with plenty of boat traffic, I don't buy this story.

I was stationed at Kings Bay... just north of Fernandina Beach. Used to see dolphins and manatees all the time. I spent a good bit of time in FB and always saw dolphins.

I get it. There is something about dolphins that makes me revert to a seven year old kid.
