this is the 3rd one without her.... still aint easy. but you have the right idea, don't dwell on the fact that she is gone.... remember all the good times. thats what helps me at least.

It's the first Christmas without my grandparents. The Christmas eve traditions were a little different without them. There were a lot of jokes with my cousins and aunt and uncle about them. Like how we used to always accuse my Granny of cheating at the games because she would always win. Just have to find a way to incorporate the old into the new and remember the old ways in the new.

Merry Christmas. I hope you have a lovely day.

Same. She passed in September.

Just happened to look in a closet this morning and came across a bunch of her Christmas nick nacks that she would decorate with... They still in the closet :/

Good vibes your way

Wife lost her grandfather back in early November, who was like a father to her....lived in adjoining houses all during her childhood. His birthday was 1 week after he passed, followed by Thanksgiving and now Christmas.

Not looking forward to this afternoon when we go visit her grandmother....Lots of waterworks ahead.

Sorry for your loss. The "year of firsts" is a kick in the nuts. First Thanksgiving, First Christmas, First Birthday, etc. Lost my Dad in the summer of 2014 and my Mom 3 years ago this month. Not a day that goes by without thinking of them and the holidays are especially tough but on the other hand, I am blessed to have a load of great memories!

Here's to you Mom and Dad!

We had to rush to the vet last night to put down our wonderful little boy of the last 17 and a half years... Maui... what a trooper he was, but he finally told us it was his time. He died five minutes before midnight.

This is a sad, sad, sad Christmas.

I love you, Maui, and I always will. Rest in peace, little buddy.

My first without my mom. Had 89 with her, although she was out of it the last ten or so with alzheimers. Funny story. A few xmas back we were heading to my stepdaughters house for xmas dinner. I put my mom in the car first. Then my wife and i can load the presents and food. We make our first load, and low and behold my mom locks the doors. Shes in the front seat and i try to get her to unlock it, and she just smules and looks at me. Had to get sprare key from our house. Good memories even when her health declined. Merry Christmas.

Not my first, but probably my last one with my dad. Stage 4 liver cancer's done its toll. The old man just stairs off into space 90% of the time. Trying to treasure the time left but damn it's rough.

Lost my dad a few years back. I received a shirt today that reminded me of something he would have worn.

I had to use the restroom shortly afterwards.

It never is easy; but it does get better. Like allot of people have already said, remember the good times and share those memories.

I hope you have the best day, buddy.

My mom passed earlier this year. We had a big family get together on 12/20 (her birthday) in Dallas - went to the National Cemetery there to the grave and ate brunch afterwards. It helped, though Dad (who is 91 and who was married to my mom for 66 years) didn't do well at the cemetery.
