Finding mud worms in your oysters is pretty gross.

I love it when people find it gross. More oysters for me to eat that way.

Same when it comes to black drum and white trout with the parasitic worms when it's warm. Just dig the damn things out if they bother you. Once the fish are fried, it's just a bit more protein to eat if you leave them in.

That's why you only eat gulf oysters grilled. PNW oysters raw are the way to go.

I've never even thought twice about those things.

same with worms in black drum. Just pull them out and don't tell the wife.

We eat a lot of trash off the ocean floor.

Those are gross too.

I generally throw drum back. Fun to catch but there are better fish to eat. If I'm going to keep a drum it's going to be barely legal.

I'm not a huge fan of the big drum, but just like sheepshead, they are excellent on the grill on the half shell with the garlic/butter/herb sauce basted over they as they cook.

They also are pretty damn good wrapped in cheesecloth and boiled in seafood seasoning, meat picked off the bones and used to make fish cakes.

Sheepshead is much better tasting IMO than any drum. Just a pain in the arse the clean. So I only keep 2 or three.

I do love Sheephead, but yes they are a pain to clean and boy do they destroy hooks.

I really do miss the delicious Gulf warm-water fish...mostly just meh Cod up here, though there are a couple decent fish e.g. Tataug and Sea Bass.

I actually have a plentiful supply of giant-sized 3x river crawfish up here, but haven't had a big boil of them yet.

Don't get me started on the shrimp up here...

The most crawfish I ever caught was in nets around a dead cow in a rice field!
